This morning I saw a seagull pecking a dead
pidgeon in the chest. I'm not going to give
any details. It was gore.

This afternoon I grabbed my radio and tuned to
Antena 2. A Portuguese station that plays mostly
classical music and also has some programs on
culture.               

I bought this radio on a local Chinese store       
to make experiments on my harsh noise project,
but ended using it also as a normal radio.   
This radio's model is CMiK MK-299. It's very
small, but serves the purpose very well.

Some months ago there was a massive blackout in
Portugal. Everything went down - phone networks,
electricity, internet and so on - for several
hours. Nobody knew what was going on and this
radio was the only thing that kept me informed,
through the local radio station, about the
situtation. Fascinating technology.

Later we found that other countries in Europe
were also affected.
         
With this blackout we could see how fragile most
of our tech can be. A smartphone, for instance,
became useless in a snap of a finger. And after       
sunset, I could only do certain chores with lit
candles.

So now you know. Next time everything goes down,
keep your radio close to you. :)
