Hi, I'm Wayne.

When I was a young teen in the 90s I got a Commodore VIC20 that was old as crap
by that point. I had to type basic into it just to use the dang thing. It
really made me realize how much work went into making something that seems so
simple. Two hours of typing and debugging just for a small sound effect that
makes my Nintendo sound like a HiFi? It must take a genius to make Mario Bros.

I've come to realize, many years later, that I'm most likely undiagnosed (as of
this writing) ADHD and tend to hyper-focus on interests to an insane degree. I
have a kid on the spectrum and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I'm the type of person who doesn't just want to know enough to get by. My love
of computers led me to not just a career in tech, but learning the lowest level
of how things work. Have you ever thought about how zeros and ones turn into
the characters on the screen you're reading right now? Well I HAD to know so I
learned assembly, electronics, and everything in between.

It's not just tech either. I'm a pretty darn good cook too. I found Alton Brown
when I was stealing internet from a neighbor and holy cow was he speaking to
me directly. Don't just tell me to add 1/2 a cup of stock, tell me why. Dude
brought out science fair displays to explain the maillard reaction.

I love to learn and share all the knowledge I can. I'm going to put as much as
I can into this part of the net to hopefully reach at least a few people. I've
got tales from my time doing tech support, interesting things I've found while
coding, stories about places I've lived, and who knows, maybe a few recipes
that I've picked up along the way.
