Knowing that current U.S. politics are essentially the other side of 
the same coin there must be common ground, to build upon.  Being a 
caring, albeit self-serving, Left-Leaning-Liberal I wish that I could 
engage the other side of the coin in rational, civil discourse.

By "rational" I mean in accordance with the real world and _all_ the 
individual people who live in it.  Not just utopian/dystopian 
future plans and dreams.  Hunger knows no future. Food poverty,  
Real.In.Person.Hunger is right now.  Not pie-in-the-sky promises.
