Heard on the Wire... Living out'n county, at the corner of mile marker 12, highway 54 and Middle-Of-No-Where-Road. Having a 3/4s of a football field long driveway with a ~5 degree uphill grade, in the middle of what little winter we actually get, y'all gotta be able to git up the drive. Yeah, I|you|we got to be a car haver in these parts. 12:00 59F Sunny, light breeze The real, day-to-day position to be taken here is matching the actual transportation needs of the individual or that of the family. Purchased smol Red Truck (acknowledging 4xWheel) prior to the pandemic, 2010 with 6K on it. Pandemic would make me an essential(?) worker. In 2016 we bought B her first new, albeit smol, car which has a little over 49K now. Since my retiring, the Red Truck is run only once every 1-2 weeks, just to "blow the cobwebs out". Later, after the holidays, I will probably take it in for it 100K tune-up, which will speak to the failing EVP valve (yellow engine light). In the event of some weather related issue the Red Truck will be pressed into service. The once a 7-10 days trip into town for groceries and prescriptions is made using B's economical (30 mpg) smol car.
