Grave wax [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adipocere ] [wikipedia.org] is
something that I have discovered exists only recently, and is very
disturbing in a twistedly awesome sort of way.

Every good RPG campaign needs some type of thing to make it unique.  This
thing could be an item, a ritual, a type of creature - let's pose giant
nanotechnology-based spiders as an example in the last category.  Upon
reading the article for grave wax, I knew at once that it would be a
perfect object around which to construct a campaign.  It brings to mind all
sorts of possibilities: witch doctors, dark rituals, and stepping stones to
access deep and terrible things.
