OBSERVANT (Posted 2009-01-30 15:23:08 by ArchPaladin) A large chunk of my time at NESA this semester is devoted to training diagnostic skills. Unlike Western medicine, the diagnostic skills I'm learning require raising my awareness of the body's subtleties, rather than using quantitative tests. One of these skills is being able to discern the state of a person's health by simply observing their face and mannerisms. It's really interesting to go to work, sit in meetings, and look and listen to people. I'm seeing things in people that I probably could have assumed anyway, but now I have some means of guiding my assumptions in a more intelligent direction. I am one step closer to the wizened guru. -------- There are no comments on this post.
