BESTIARIES (Posted 2009-07-09 13:37:09 by ArchPaladin) For ease of identification, I really think the word should be spelled 'beastiary' rather than 'bestiary', but I didn't live in the Middle Ages. I didn't know that people were still preserving the archaic records of bestiaries, although as with so many other things, it makes sense after the fact that someone other than me has similar interests. At any rate, I stumbled across an online compendium [ http://bestiary.ca/index.html ] [bestiary.ca] that is a combined bestiary from multiple sources. It has a number of interesting entries, although I wouldn't call this an exhaustive reference just yet. After poking around at that site for a while, I came to wonder if there was someplace that did the same for Japanese yokai [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y%C5%8Dkai ] [wikipedia.org]. Sure enough, there was such a site [ http://www.obakemono.com/ ] [obakemono.com] in the external links section. I think both of these sites are a very cool find. I hope they continue to develop. -------- There are no comments on this post.
