I think most everyone hears stories about how old laws are still written in
the law books in many states, even though no one would use them to
prosecute anyone these days.

Apparently, one such law that is still on the books in MA is that blasphemy
is illegal [ http://www.mass.gov/legis/laws/mgl/272-36.htm ] [mass.gov]. 
(The last record of it being used in court is in 1838 [
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_v._Kneeland ] [wikipedia.org]).

I don't know why, but I find this highly amusing.
