HOUSING UPDATE (Posted 2007-07-19 12:46:11 by ArchPaladin) Financial stuff is all squared away now. The only thing we are waiting for is the sellers. For my future roommates, there has been some rumored talk of a request by the sellers to push the closing date out a little. This is supposedly due to the need for time to secure paperwork from the bank that owns the house they are moving to. If the date does get pushed out, it shouldn't be very far, though there's no way of knowing specifics. Of course, this is all assuming that the sellers do in fact need more time. Everything else goes on as usual, though very shortly I will need to start packing. -------- There are 3 comments on this post: Comment #1 by Krys ( auggiememnon@yahoo.com ) on 2007-07-19 15:11:31 erf. I hope not too much farther. How much is "a little"? Are we talking a little "a week" or a little "two days"? From what I understand, if they request to push out the closing date we are allowed to refuse - particularly so if the closing date would be pushed out past the end of the month. It is more expensive for the buyer to close at the end of the month than the beginning because of how taxes are collected on the property. As I've currently requested from the 28th-31st off, I'll need to make adjustments at work appropriately. (And thus this affects what days I'm available the 1st-4th for Seafood, and then what day I can start in Merrimack, assuming my transfer goes through.) You'll have to explain the whole taxes thing to me tonight, for the sake of interest in the going-ons with purchasing a place.
