Apparently the going rate for a five pound box of uranium ore is $60.

This site [ http://www.unitednuclear.com/ ] [unitednuclear.com] is a
supplier for the science hobbyist community.  They sell equipment, reactant
grade chemicals, and (you guessed it) radioactive material.  They claim it
is all legal and requires no license or background check to obtain.  Not
being a lawyer and not working in the scientific community, I don't know
how accurate such a statement is.  However, the prospect is very
interesting.

It's nice to know that in an age where fear and litigious activity seem to
be normal behavior, there is at least some group of people out there who
still realize that having access to stuff is not a bad thing.  Objects are
objects; it is only ignorance or bad motives that make them dangerous.
