An article [ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-12140064 ] [bbc.co.uk] at
the BBC states that new science is showing that genetic expression is
highly dependent on one's environment, and not as set in stone as we
originally thought.

This is an excellent point, and a good reason to do one's best at whatever
they feel like doing.

One thing that came to mind, however: surely these statements makes any
gains achieved by the homosexuality-is-genetic-and-can't-be-controlled camp
nothing more than a pyrrhic victory?
