LEEDSKALNIN (Posted 2008-02-19 21:14:32 by ArchPaladin) Back when I was at Brandeis, my step-father once pointed out to me a book by a man named Edward Leedskalnin. I wrote down the name and left it on my desk for a number of years, and finally got around to really looking at it a couple days ago. There is considerable legend surrounding this individual. This man, allegedly single-handedly, built the structure known as the Coral Castle [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coral_Castle ] [en.wikipedia.org]. He is claimed by some to have discovered a secret mystery concerning electricity and magnetism, and used that knowledge to develop a means of storing electricity indefinitely in a battery based on magnets. He is also said to have found a way to move large objects with little effort using a form of technology that was used by the ancient Egyptians to build the pyramids - technology that has been lost to modern civilization. The bulk of the claims and data that I've found about him can be read about here [ http://www.leedskalnin.com/ ] [leedskalnin.com]. Whether or not you believe this stuff - well, I reserve judgment. I think the battery - Leedskalnin used the term perpetual motion holder - would be easy enough to test if you wanted to lay some money down on the equipment needed. As for the moving of large objects - I don't really know. If it is true that he built the Coral Castle single-handedly, then he certainly knew something. Whether or not it is some form of mysterious technology, I cannot say. I would rather like to know, though. -------- There are no comments on this post.
