If you, dear reader are able to read this entry the world hasn't
ended... at least not completely and not for all of us. For the
last couple of weeks i really struggle with the sheer amount of...
crazyness... that is the news in this still young 2026. Iran trolling
the Trump administration with AI generated Lego videos? A president
that announces a genocide at worst or a big warcrime at best via
social media? Live updates from soldiers in Ukraine being hunted
by FPV drones? If you ask me, its nuts. Completely. All of it.

Again i am contemplating if i should take a break from all of this,
log out of the net, keep the modern(-ish) computers off and dive
again into the wonderful world of DOS. Annas post about the future
of education using simpler computers sureley made me wish to take
a look at this little corner of the computing world again. We will
see...

I have started to commute to work via a newly bought ebike, an
Momentum Voya E+ 2 i could get at a discount for 599,- Euros. A
really nice bike and the electric wind in the back is really a nice
thing if you take the rather steep hill into account i have to
climb on both ways of my 14 km commute. So far i am keeping it up
now for about two weeks now and i hope i will be able to keeping
it this way for the months to come. Its really interesting how the
rising costs for petrol and the beginning of spring created a
perfect storm (in the positive sense) for alternative modes of
transportation im my region. My wife who was already commuting via
train for years observed a rapid increase in passengers and i surely
can tell: There is a ton of bikes on the designated bike paths in
my region! Hah... who knows? Perhaps in fifty years there will be
a mention in history books that the foolish actions of an american
president was the trigger that finally convinced people that the
green transition is perhaps not that much of a hippie thing :-D
