!Logs and clean up --- Fri Apr 3 15:46:45 UTC 2026 --- Listening to: * Devo - Girl U Want * The Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl * Primus - Jerry was a Race Car Driver * Generation X - One Hundred Punks * The Pixies - Here Comes Your Man I don't pretend that I don't care what people think about me. Well, at least not here. Otherwise, fake it, till you make it, right? Hardships and rejection leave traces that - without the appropriate mental hygiene - can plague you forever. But what to do with those ten years old gigabytes of logs? I wouldn't mind uncompressing and examining. Unless there's a really good reason to keep it in the dusty and musty archive laced with cobwebs, burn it all down. You will probably forget something important but it seems easier to figure that out somehow than dealing with the old crap. Start fresh. A minimal .vimrc, comfortable but not overwhelming. At least that's what I want to do. And start rotating the logs! So, I was really interested if anybody reads this at all. I still don't know but at least I can see that this little phlog is accessed (probably by a crawler of some kind). With a little entry in your gophermap you can execute the date command and log the output to a file. Like so: =date >> /path/to/your/logfile I have a bash script to manage my log files, you can find it under programming. Also you can see the latest output in "Public access log" under my About section. It is updated when I log in. If you're a human reading this, drop me a line!
