DATE: Mon Jun 20 04:01:15 UTC 2005 |USER: snh Today is Father's Day, and we spent it on LI at the in-laws. Nice people, but they ALWAYS want to go to a restaurant, and it's ALWAYS Italian cuisine, and though the restaurants are always good, I'm just tired of it. Bruch was quiche, so I got the double whammy. So much for Father's Day. Being a dad is great except when the kids are being bad or injuring themselves, and then being a dad is horrible. Todate, my kids have injured themselves doing something I've told them not to do. I don't what what's that about, but I have absolutely no simpathy for my children or spouse when this happens - and it happens enough to be annoying. Maybe I should be more open-minded about this, but I'm not. Stupidity is bad enough, but when it's within one's own family it's worse. Two good things about Father's Day are that my wife does make sure I get a reasonable gift from the kids, and that's good. There's a lot of frustrating things that happen to guy once he's married with kids, and one of those things is how people including the family listen even less than before, even though dad's probably right even more. I don't know why people don't listen to dads more, but they should. It would be a lot less frustrating for dads everywhere. Sean N.
