January 25th, 2012: So, here we are several months later. Not much has gone on, retro-wise. I haven't had the time or inclination to migrate The Model 4P Diaries over, but I hope to do so in the coming weeks, perhaps with The Model 100 Diaries in tow..? At any rate, I have a number of projects in the works. First and foremost is "Angry Red", a 20MHz 386 portable I am building into a net-cruising powerhouse, complete with mass storage options! The first order of business is to upgrade from MS-DOS 5.0 to 6.22, and from Windows 3.0 to Windows for Workgroups 3.11. This way I can take full advantage of the networking abilities of 3.11. After that, the main focus will be getting the various peripherals I have to work. I have a SCSI scanner, external ZIP and JAZ drives, and a graphics tablet to get going! After that, it's on to more exotic peripherals, such as a Xircom parallel-to-ethernet device and a couple of video game console devices. When that is done, work will begin on the restoration and tweaking of "Miyuki" and "Natsumi", my Amiga 4000 and Amiga 1200, respectively. Miyuki needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, while Natsumi needs a bit of tweaking. I'm also planning to move Natsumi into a fancy new A1200 tower case, complete with ATX PSU. Much can be done with an expanded A1200 setup! Of course, I'm planning to document everything here, so come back for a visit sometime soon!
