July 15th, 2012:

	Well, I couldn't wait until Monday to mess with my SunPCi-II card.  
I ended up emailing the links to the sunwspci2 software and the mandatory 
patch for Solaris 10 to my home email address.  The install went well, 
thanks to the instructions I found online.  After the install, I typed 
'/opt/SUNWspci2/bin/sunpci -l' and the Ultra 5 verified that the SunPCi-II 
was detected.  I tried to run the program and...

* CRASH *

	A bunch of error codes popped up on my screen.  Apparently the X 
Server couldn't handle the SunPCi window... after fighting with software 
settings and screenmodes (remember, I have no idea what I'm doing half the 
time) and failing, I had the bright idea of switching monitors.  I 
unplugged my flatscreen monitor, cleared it from the workbench, and hefted 
up my big ol' CRT monitor (a KDS VS-something-or-other) that weighs about 
30 lbs.  This thing is capable of some pretty odd screen resolutions, so I 
figured I'd at least give it a try.

Sure enough, it worked!

	I'm now in the process of making a 20Gb hardfile (emulated hard 
drive) and will be installing Windows XP shortly.  I plan to run the 
SunPCi software on an external monitor (the previously mentioned 
flatscreen) so I don't clutter my Solaris desktop ;)
