March 2nd, 2018: Nothing ruins a relaxing Saturday morning like realizing it is, in fact, only Friday and you have to be at work (at the city centre) in half an hour... Such was my predicament this morning. I got up at my usual 5:30 am, fed our cat, made myself a cup of coffee, and sat back on the loveseat with my tablet. I was going through bike trailer campers on Pinterest, sipping my coffee, when a calendar notification popped up reminding me that my Grandmother's birthday party was Friday, March 2nd, at 6pm. Tonight. It took me a second for the "Friday" part to register in my mind. At which point, I got dressed, gulped down my coffee, fired up the car, and sped off to work. Didn't even take time to make a lunch. Traffic was bad (as it usually is at this time of day), and the glare from the sun didn't help things on the road... Somehow, I made it to work with five minutes to spare. This is one of the few times I'm glad we have a car. Sigh. It's going to be a long day... On an unrelated note, the cotters for my folding bike project arrived yesterday. They seem to fit in the crank (ie the arm the pedals attach to) perfectly, but I'll need to ensure they fit to the spindle on the bike's bottom bracket to be sure. If not, I'll be stuck trying to source out a rare, odd-sized Thompson bottom bracket in working condition.
