March 14th, 2018: Looks like the weather is finally getting warmer up here in Winnipeg, with temperatures hovering around 0 degrees celsius. Snow's melting, and soon I'll be riding my bikes again. I'm going to put more of an effort into riding every day. Last year, I didn't commute (by bike) to work as often as I'd have liked, so this year I'm making it a point to commute as often as I'm able, and to run local errands on my bike. We have a full-service grocery store, liquor store, butcher, bakery, and coffee shops all within a 5km radius, so there's really no excuse to drive. As mentioned previously, I'm considering buying a cargo trailer for my bike. It'd let me haul larger grocery loads, and would come in handy on Giveaway Weekends if I go scavenging (or when I want to hit local garage sales). Hell, it'll give me an excuse to ride out to Ikea a few kilometers away... Any of you have experience with bike trailers? Cargo trailers, not kid/pet haulers. @ me on Mastodon, send me an email, or let me know your experiences in a phlog post!
