April 4th, 2018: Rough night. We heard our daughter crying at 2:30am, so we both got up to check on her. We thought she'd had a bad dream, but the real situation hit us square in the nose when we went into her room... Our poor girl was sitting up in her bed, covered in poop. It looked like someone had taken a shotgun to a crockpot of chili! I motioned for my wife to give her a bath, while I cleaned up the surrounding area and changed her bedding. I'd just come upstairs from the laundry room when I heard my wife vomiting. Whatever my daughter had, she gave to my wife... Once everyone was cleaned up, I helped both my ladies to bed, then texted my boss to let him know I would be staying home today to look after my family... then went back to bed myself. Our daughter got up around 8am, looking a little green but otherwise OK. The missus got up soon after, looking worse for wear. We decided to take it easy, so we all sat around watching Sesame Street for the rest of the day. Throughout the morning, I kept an eye on an eBay auction that was due to end before noon my time. As luck would have it, I ended up being the only bidder, and I walked away with the Peugeot folding bike I'd mentioned a day or two ago. I've posted a pic to SDF's Mastodon instance for those who are curious. I also received the 133MHz CPU upgrade for my Powerbook 1400c in the mail today. Had it installed within a half-hour of opening the package, and am happy to report a noticeable speed increase in the old girl. The built-in FPU and L2 cache will help when I'm fooling around in Photoshop! So, not a good start to the day, but a pretty good ending. The family is feeling better, I didn't have to go to work, and I've come away with some cool stuff. All in all, not a bad day.
