April 30th, 2018: If you managed to read my MOTD blog over the weekend (while MOTD was up), you'll know my Peugeot folding bike project is on temporary hold. A few unforeseen (but not insurmountable) issues appeared, so I'll work on those when time and finances permit. In the meantime, I largely finished off my road bike project. Needs a little tweaking, but I'll get it figured out. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to ride much over the weekend. We reached 24 degrees Celsius yesterday, but the wind was gusting to 70KM/h, which made riding a bit... difficult. I've ridden into higher winds when I've had to (say, commuting home from work), but I won't do it for a pleasure cruise. Kinda takes the enjoyment away. As I mentioned on the blog, Cornelius (the aforementioned road bike) will be my pleasure bike. I've debated (re)installing a pannier rack, in case I want to do some shopping or happen upon a garage sale/roadside stall, but I have other bikes for that. As a compromise, I may use a handlebar bag for such an occasion (I'll never wear a backpack or messenger bag - personal preference). Apart from lights, a bell, and reflectors, I don't know that I'll be adding anything to Cornelius. With that project largely out of the way, I'll be concentrating on Felix, my Auto-Mini folding bike. My parts should be here by the end of May, so I'll have him ready for June. Looking forward to my first serious ride of the year...
