December 27th, 2019: Well, the Christmas season has come and gone, and I can concentrate on the year ahead. The coming year should prove interesting, as things are in a state of flux around our place. We've been downsizing a lot, getting rid of clutter and freeing up room in the house. We're set to do another major cull of our daughter's toys, getting rid of the things she doesn't play with or has outgrown (with her making the decisions, of course). Her play area has taken over the rec room, and we have boxes upon boxes of toys stacked everywhere. I'm doing another major cull of my lab, too. I have several unstarted projects that survived last year's cull which are not going to survive this year. My TI-99 is going to be sold or donated, along with a couple of older PC laptops whose backlights have burned out. I'm debating whether or not to keep my Mac SE/30, and my Apple IIc is on its way out. My radio stuff might be on the chopping block, too. Since my Degen DE-1103 died, I haven't been interested in AM or Shortwave DXing. Unless I finally set up my Ten Tec RX320D radio, my interest in radio might have ended. Of course, I'm keeping the machines I worked on this year: My Amiga 1200 and 4000, my MSX2, my Coco 3, and my TRS-80 Model 4P will survive into the new year. My surviving SUN machines (my Sparc IPX, IPC, and Ultra 5) will join them, and my old Cisco stuff will have a home for another year. I've been debating whether or not I should keep my Sony SMC-70G and related video production equipment - while I HAVE worked on it this year, I'm not certain I'll work on it this year. I think I'll keep it this time, but if I haven't used it by this time next year, it's gone. Sigh... I'm not looking forward to going into the lab tomorrow. SO much work to do...
