April 24th, 2020: I updated my TRS-80 journal "The 4p Diaries" today, the first update in almost five years! I won't rehash what I wrote, but I'm happy to have Sigrid (my Model 4p) fully functional again. I had time to kill whilst waiting for a vendor to answer, so to pass the time productively, I opted to work on Sigrid. I had other options, but I chose Sigrid simply because the 4p was most accessable and most easily hooked up. The fix took a half-hour, but now the work begins. More on that in the next 4p Diaries update, look for the restored link on my Gopherhole's main page [1]. -- I started cleaning my lab out a few days ago - taking things to the e-cycler and recycling some of the papers and books of little value. Found some Xenix and SCO Unix stuff, will be offering that to The Unix Historical Society once I have a better idea of what all I have. The lab has been crowded since we bought the house in 2015, and after the Teetering Bookcase of Death fell on me couple of days ago, I decided it was time to get rid of the stuff I've never *thought* of, let alone used, in the last twenty years. Stuff like Novell Netware 4.02, Informix-4gl for PC-DOS, Oracle 7 for MS-DOS and Windows 3.11, and so on. Stuff I'll never use and nobody else wanted. Stuff that's taking up an awful lot of already finite space. My OS/2 stuff is also being thrown on the pile - I'm probably going to offer it for sale at some point, as some folks are still nostalgic for the OS. Once my work-at-home orders are rescinded and I can return to my workplace, I can reclaim my lab and start experimenting again... [1] gopher://gopher.club:70/1/users/sparcipx/
