January 6th: Happy New Year! The holidays are over and it's back to business as usual. I think I've largely worked through my extended period of ennui, or at least enough that I can be creative and productive again. Nah, screw "productive", I'm not creating a product or growing a brand here. I really need to get out of that mindset, that I'm "producing content". I'm not. I'm just writing whatever's on my mind, storing it on a public Unix system, and hoping to Hell nobody who reads my BS takes me seriously. Not exactly a hot commodity. I've considered blogging (as opposed to phlogging/gemlogging) again, but I'm suspicious of most existing blogging platforms (privacy, AI scraping, etc) and frankly don't want the hassle or expense of self-hosting. Hell, I'm even cautious about what I post on the Fediverse these days, especially now that the AI Cancer has Meta-stasised and Threads is everywhere. So, that said, if I commit to writing again (and I probably will), it'll be here in Gopherspace, the Gemspace, or Finger @sparcipx. Speaking of the Fediverse, I've moved servers/identities again. My main Fedi account is now @powerword@friendica.world. I moved over to Friendica because it handles Mastodon as well as Diaspora*, so I don't have to juggle two apps or browser tabs. Everything is under one account without jumping through a bunch of hoops. I'm keeping my other Mastodon account @septemberagenda@mastodon.sdf.org open for now, checking it periodically but focusing on my main account above. Anyhow, I should probably get some work done. My coworkers are back from their Christmas/Holiday breaks and the support calls are rolling in. So far, forgotten passwords are in the lead...
