11 November 2021 - Odd Conversations Last Monday, I had a discussion with my boss. It was truely odd as he couldn't work out the best way of asking. He kept going in circles mentioning his daughters. Eventually he settled on describing going to a restaurant for your birthday. He asked whether I would be ok or run away if someone got servers to come out and sing happy birthday. This confused me greatly and made me worry. My boss also insisted I come into the office today. There was a visit from seniors from one end of the business we are currently working with and a bit of a show and tell of what we have been up to. Well I was only needed for a 30 minute meeting. Who wants to travel into work for that? I found out why he insisted and was acting strange. I ended up being presented with a letter of thanks from the director of future systems and a project coin. The project coin shows an aircraft with a Union Flag decoration surrounded by the project name on one side while the other side has 2 aircraft flying. It was nice to be thanked but I cannot help but think my team deserve it more than me. They are awesome and I will have to see if I can get one of these for each of them too. I ended today with a return to climbing. My fingers hurt again. Need to rough up those pads again! Of course, today is Rememberance Day. As ever I focus on remembering a relative who died in the first World War and the members of HMS Glamorgan who didn't make it back from the Falklands. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
