I like desktop email clients. Mozilla Thunderbird is a great open
   source cross-platform option.

   Here's how I integrated Thunderbird on Ubuntu with my Google Calendar.

   Go [1]here for setting up Thunderbird. Then go [2]here. This could work
   on other platforms.
