# I Don't Like Your Progress Bar

A small thing I see on websites that I
hate: progress bars along the top of the
page that tell me how far through the
page I am.

  1.  If I'm enjoying your page I will
      read on, regardless of how much
      more there is, and I will stop
      when I'm no longer enjoying it.

  2.  Making my eyes flick between the
      line I am reading and the moving line
      at the top of the page makes it
      impossible for me to read, so I'm
      more likely to leave your page.
