February 25, 2024 Hello SDF-world! That iPod Classic battery replacement did not go to plan. The 2000mAh battery is only compatible with iPods that have been modded with the iFlash Dual (which I thought I had). I actually have the iFlash SATA which is compatible with.... no large batteries! I am stuck with my current 650mAh battery unless I want to go through the effort for the 850mAh upgrade, but such a marginal increase isn't hugely worth it for me. Quite frankly, the current battery life is nothing to complain about. I've been looking at the Classic Connect mod from moonlit.market that adds Bluetooth and USB-C. The added USB port charges the battery much faster than the 30-pin connector. I asked the shop owner & product designer if the optional solder to add data transfer ability via USB-C would improve data transfer rates and they said sadly not, so I do not think I will be going through the extra effort when it arrives. The mod does enable the 2000mAh battery I've been hoping for, and is a good chance to increase my flash storage. It just has to get here from the UK! Hopefully customs won't hold it up. About to be a crazy week and a half at work, wish me luck! I hope all is well in your world. Take it easy now.
