Welcome to gopherspace.
Isn't it exciting? It's a trip back in time. Welcome to your past.
Alright, so you want to know what this is? Well, gopher is an
old protocol that was designed to easily allow the share of information
and files over the Internet. It contains hypertext menus that allow
quick and easy navigation of gopherspace.
This protocol predated the web as we know it (HTML), but is still
alive today.
So what's the point of it? Well, It's very easy to make a
gopherspace; they are more like FTP sites, although that doesn't mean
that the only thing a gopherspace can be is a collection of files. It
can also display information in menus which gives us an amalgamation of
both technologies.
