Here is what I have found most interesting in modern gopherspace
DIR Frog Tips
There are about 200 working gopher servers in the world today (written
in the mid 2000-ies; see gopher://gopher.rp.spb.su/1/servers), but
only few of them are maintained on a regular basis and contain really
useful information. Here they are.
DIR SDF Public Access UNIX
DIR PCW Aerv Gopher Service (dead)
DIR Paul Dunne's gopher server (dead)
DIR athene.dnsalias.org (dead)
DIR droog.sdf-eu.org
DIR Floodgap Systems
DIR gopher.kostecke.net (dead)
DIR Ocean State Free-Net Gopher (dead)
DIR gopher.quux.org
DIR Whole Earth Electronic Links (dead)
DIR gopher.wumpus-cave.net (dead)
DIR hal3000.cx (dead)
DIR rachael.dyndns.org (dead)
DIR Zedah.org (dead)
DIR Simple Machines (dead)
You see that all of the greatest gopher servers of 2000s are dead by
now except those that are specifically dedicated to gopher support.
Gophers at sdf.lonestar.org and droog.sdf-eu.org include their
members' personal gopherspaces where you can also find something
new, for example these:
DIR In the Beginning Was the Command Line
DIR Cicada Incomplete Gopher Census (dead)
DIR Robert's GopherSpace
DIR yargo
DIR Amino's Gopher Node (dead)
DIR Lisp-p.org in Gopherspace (dead)
You see that some are also dead, some maybe also because of the
changes in gophermap file formats on SDF.
Here were some great Internet archives
DIR Online Books Initiative (dead)
If you're running an active gopher server not mentioned here please
write me an email (see my email address in Contacts).
