I was able to spend some time trying to catch up on the OCC phosts
from the other participants. I'm glad to see other people
participating. I think there are m0ar people logging their OCC
experiences on other protocols that I cannot currently access. I
will catch up when I am back on m0ar m0d3rn h4rdju4r3z.

The N900 is still limited and I am getting over my frustrations. I
am getting used to how slow it is...it didn't used to be this slow,
       dambit!

I do have SID tunage playing on the N900, so that makes me happy.
I need to try and add m0ar tunage...but not the whole collection.

       Gotta motor...m0ar l8r...

The batteries on both devices are a concern. For the E2, it is
fine if I am just writing or doing PIM stuff. If I do resource
intensive stuff, like play Legacy or mess arouind with audio
applications, it really eats the battery. For the N900, network
stuff + bluetoof really kills the battery fast. Fortunately, I can
do fine with an external powerbank or plugged into the grid.

I have HanDBase 4 installed on this device and would like to tinker
with it again. I used to use HanDBase quite a bit making my own
databases...it was kinda like pseudo application building with a
GUI and it has a forms module. The old databases I made are still
on this device...mostly bio tracking stuff, like food, exwercise,
sleep, etc. There is also one for media consumption that I made in
2014...I guess that shows where I was at.

HanDBase also had a desktop client for Windows and Android. Both
seemed to be adequate when I tried them. I think it also had a
conduit for MS Access and MS SQL Server.

One of the things that concerns me about spending time on hanDBase
is I am not sure how much I would use it. If I decide to keep
using PalmOS for PIM stuff, I would use it regularly. That
decision has not been made. Even if I did build something, and did
not use HanDBase moving forward, at least it would give me a
platform to brainstorm a database and build it on a different
platform. The data would be easy to export. Last I checked, it
didn't seem like there was much development being done.

One of the things I've wanted to do before was build and maintain
my own PIM that would be tailor-made to the way I do things, have
only the components that I need, sync with my current device, and
run from a terminal. I never got around to it and don't really
have the bandwiff or motivation for taking on that kind of project
right now. I don't really like using the stuff that's out there.
I just dislike it when I start using what is out there and then the
program is no longer supported or doesn't work on modern devices or
whatever. The PIM in PalmOS is still good...no terminal
application though and they don't make devices anymore. I still
have a few PalmOS devices, but the batteries are the main concern.
That is why I was bummed when I found out that my Palm IIIxe is not
working. That device uses AAA batteries and have a battery door.
I think all of the other ones I have, the batteries are not easily
serviceable. They need to bring back the battery doors and use off
the shelf batteries on modern handheld devices.
