Tips for Network Configuration on Windows 3.11:

1. Install the network card drivers.

2. Install TCP/IP protocol for Windows 3.11.

3. Set TCP/IP as the default network protocol.

4. Verify that your config.sys file contains:

devicehigh=c:\windows\ifshlp.sys

Sometimes, during driver installation, Windows
might not add this necessary line!

5. In the TCP/IP configuration settings, specify
the subnet mask and use 8.8.8.8 as your DNS server
since not all DNS servers may be compatible with
Windows 3.11.

6. Ensure that autoexec.bat includes:

set path=C:\windows

This sets the DOS environment to locate all Windows
files correctly.
