Preface Fourteen thousand years - a number that can make your head spin. It seems like an abyss, a chasm of time vast enough to swallow all pharaohs, empires, and our memories. But when you apply this insignificant figure to the cold body of our planet, whose age is over four billion years, our proud history shrinks to the size of morning dew on a granite stone. It sparkles for a moment before evaporating with the first rays of the rising sun. We live at the surface of an unimaginably deep ocean, often unaware of it. Official history is merely a thin, shimmering film on its surface. It lulls us into an illusion of knowledge. But beneath it lies a layer - a depth where light does not penetrate, where the pressure of time could crush any convenient theory. There, in darkness, rest layers that science, this modern priesthood, prefers to bypass in obedient silence. They do not fit into the neat chapters of textbooks. They are like dynamite hidden in the foundation of our understanding of the world, and a single touch could blow apart everything we consider unbreakable from the inside. What if we are merely tenants in an old, repeatedly resold house? What if humanity has already inhabited this Earth, loved, built, fought, and perished - more than once? We, with our smartphones and space ships, are not the first, and unfortunately, seem not to be the last civilization here. The realization of this fact is breathtaking! We cherish this tidy ladder of progress. Here are its steps carved out over centuries: the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age… then antiquity, the Middle Ages, and now we are at the top - shining in the glow of the technological era of progress. Everything is logical. Everything is sequential. A convenient fairy tale at sunset for humanity. But what if we climbed not to the roof of our knowledge, but onto a heap of ancient ruins? What if this ladder leads nowhere, and right beneath our feet lie the fragments of another, unimaginably more ancient and possibly incomparably greater structure? We walk on them, unaware, stumbling over them, calling all this curious artifacts. These artifacts are shards of a forgotten past of the planet. They are silent witnesses, and their silence is more eloquent than any chronicles. They shatter familiar stereotypes, casting doubt on the very foundation of our origins. They ask us: "Who are you, aliens living on a scorched earth?" 2. Imprints in Stone It all began with a dusty office and a strange parcel. 1997, Urumqi. A retired professor, a man of old school, was unfolding yellowed paper. Inside was a piece of clay shale, mined from the slopes of Red Mountain in China. And on it was a clear imprint. Not a leaf or bone of a prehistoric fish lying nearby. No. It was a distinct, undeniable footprint of a shoe. With relief, with wear indicating weight distribution. The age of the rock, determined by expertise, stunned him: two hundred million years. The age of the dinosaurs. Who wore shoes when T. rex roamed the Earth? And this was not the first case. Back in 1968, in Antelope Springs, Utah, fossil hunter William Meister was splitting a Cambrian slab - half a billion years old. And on the cut surface, he saw what made his fingers go cold: a sandal print, and beneath it - a crushed trilobite, an ancient armadillo creature. Chemist Dr. Melvin A. Cook merely shrugged: the imprint was genuine, hidden inside an untouched layer of rock. In 1927, in Rhyolite Canyon, Nevada, amateur geologist Albert Knapp found a fossil in Triassic limestone, about 225 million years old, that struck him with its ordinariness. It was a shoe heel. Under a microscope, the seams revealed workmanship with finesse and perfection surpassing 1927 technology. At one time, a strange stone map was discovered in Bashkiria, somewhere in Russia, at the end of the 20th century. A large stone slab with a three-layer structure (dolomite, diopside glass, porcelain coating) depicted the topography of the entire Ural region. Including the vanished Ufa Canyon. Shells were found within the slab, one of which went extinct 60 million years ago. In 1931, in Nevada, USA, fossilized footprints of barefoot humans were found in Triassic layers dating about 250 million years back. These finds are not anomalies. They are traces, evidence left in geological formations from times when, according to classical science chronology, no one capable of wearing shoes existed. But the most shocking evidence, as always, lies much deeper - within the Earth's depths. 3. Gold and Steel In 1844, in Scotland, an iron nail was found embedded in a sandstone block at great depth. In 1848, California was feverishly chasing gold. Carpenter James Marshall found it in a stream, and thousands rushed into the mountains, stripping the land like a herd of bison. But truly strange things began to be found by those who delved into ancient, fossilized riverbeds, where time had compressed sand and gravel into a hard monolith. Gigantic bones, tools, parts of strange mechanisms shocked gold miners. In December 1851, The London Times published a story more like a feuilleton: miners extracted a piece of gold-bearing quartz from deep within a mine, and inside it, firmly embedded, was an iron nail. Geologist J.D. Whitney, in 1880, compiled a catalog of inconvenient finds: stone tools - tips, mortars, pestles - lying beneath untouched layers of lava aged from 9 to 35 million years. Who left them there, in an era when hominids were just beginning to descend from trees? The Smithsonian Institution, many years later, in 1989, acknowledged with restraint: such artifacts belong to the "difficult category." They are easier to ignore than explain. But ignoring is not refutation. It is a silent admission that the ladder of our history leads somewhere wrong. 4. Reactor and Platform 1972, Gabon, Okelo deposit. French scientists analyzing uranium ore were shocked. The isotope concentrations indicated that a nuclear reaction had already taken place here. Moreover, they identified six zones where atomic fission forces once raged - 1.9 billion years ago! Researchers from the University of Washington suggested it was a self-regulating natural reactor, with groundwater acting as a moderator. But how did this fragile natural mechanism maintain tectonic stability for hundreds of thousands of years? It resembles a carefully designed system more than a caprice of nature. Similarly, other silent witnesses remain on the surface of the Earth. Baalbek, Lebanon. The terrace of the Jupiter Temple, built from giant blocks, each weighing over 300 tons. Only three Trilithon stones at its base weigh between 800 and 1000 tons. They were fitted so tightly that a knife blade cannot be inserted between them. Who and, more importantly, how transported these monoliths from quarries kilometers away and lifted them seven meters high? Arab manuscripts claimed that after the Great Flood, King Nimrod sent giants to rebuild Baalbek. Could this be metaphorical? The quarry still contains the "Southern Stone," a thousand-ton monolith - the largest processed single block in the world, seemingly thrown in with superhuman strength. 5. Giants' Bones Thus, legends of giants are not mere fairy tales. They are repressed memories of humanity, traces persistently erased from all history textbooks. In 1911, in Lava Beds Cave, Nevada, excavations uncovered mummified remains of unnaturally tall humans. The Paiute Indians whispered about red-haired giants called "Si-Te-Cahs," whom their ancestors expelled from these caves. The scientific community scoffed and turned away. Most mummies were eventually burned. Only fragments remain, including a massive skull indicating from of someone height of about three meters. In 1821, in Tennessee, two skeletons 215 cm tall were found beneath an ancient wall ruin. In 1885, in Pennsylvania, a stone tomb contained a skeleton 220 cm tall. In 1899, in Gasterville, Germany, miners in the Ruhr region discovered petrified skeletons ranging from 210 to 240 cm. In Ireland, at the end of the 19th century, an incredible find was made: a mummy 3.7 meters tall! The creature had six fingers on each hand and foot. A photograph was published in a British magazine, but the mummy mysteriously disappeared without a trace. In Australia, near Basarsta, from 1930 to 1985, prospectors found petrified footprints up to 60 cm long - the owner's height would have been about six meters. They also found giant stone tools weighing from 4 to 9 kg, which an ordinary person could not lift. In 1985, a fossilized molar measuring 67 by 42 mm was discovered there. The owner of such a tooth would have been about 7.5 meters tall. The age of the find was staggering - nine million years. Soviet newspapers in the late 1980s frequently reported discoveries of giant graves in the Armenian mountains. It became so common that authorities stopped paying attention, despite abundant physical evidence to this day. In 1999, in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, British paleontologists discovered fossil remains of a humanoid creature about 15 meters tall in a 45-million-year-old layer. The find was declared a hoax, but local legends spoke of a "bony demon" living in that canyon. All these bones are not anomalies. They are the norm for some forgotten layer of Earth's history. Graves of giants have been revered in the Middle East for centuries. The grave of Abel, son of Adam, near Damascus, had a tombstone 5 meters 71 cm long. Near Aleppo, there was a tomb 7.75 meters long, supposedly holding a man named Muhammad Attaul. Authorities prohibit excavating these burials - the truth might be too inconvenient. Modern academic bureaucracy refuses to acknowledge the existence of giants. Officially, they are just people suffering from gigantism. Most skulls and giant bones in Armenia or elsewhere have been destroyed, sold to collectors, or simply lost. This is because there is no non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and supporting alternative history with its thousands of unique finds and artifacts. Essentially, the search for proto- civilizations boils down to money and resources - trivial by today's standards. 6. Artifacts That Survived Time Geological catastrophes leave little chance for fragile creations of human hands. Yet some have survived. In South Africa, in 2.8-billion-year-old rock, metallic spheres have been found. Some are solid with bluish metal and white veins; others are hollow, filled with white spongy substance. Some have three perfect parallel grooves around the "equator." In 1938, in the Bayan-Kara-Ula mountains of China, archaeologists discovered a cave with remains of short-statured beings with large heads. Nearby lay stone disks about 23 cm in diameter with a hole in the center and a spiral groove made of tiny, unreadable hieroglyphs. The age of these artifacts is estimated at 10-12 thousand years. In 1900, Greece, from a sunken Roman ship near the island of Antikythera, was recovered a mechanism made of bronze and wood. Inside were dozens of gears. It predicted planetary movements, solar eclipses, and Olympic dates. Dated around 80 BCE, its technology surpasses any known epoch. Similarly, the so-called Baghdad Battery, found in Iraq in 1936, is an ancient clay vessel about 2000 years old with a copper cylinder and an iron rod inside, sealed with bitumen. When filled with an electrolyte, it could produce about 1 volt. In Austria, in 1885, a metallic object of perfect form was found inside a piece of brown coal from the Tertiary period, dated millions of years ago. In the Crimea, in the mid-2000s, an ancient loom was found during excavations of the Scythian burial mound. After a detailed analysis and study of the find, it turned out that this was not a machine at all, but a mathematical device based on some kind of nodular punched cards. Over time, the find, as usual, disappeared and everyone safely forgot about it. In Egypt, at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, basalt slabs with perfect cuts lie as if they were cut with a diamond saw. Granite vases with wall thicknesses of just a couple of millimeters and traces of processing reminiscent of lathe work. Tubular drill holes in granite, where the cutting edge was about a millimeter thick. Who used such tools in ancient times? 7. The White Gods and Strange Parallels The first to notice this peculiarity were missionaries who arrived in the New World following the conquistadors. The indigenous peoples revered the cross as a symbol of life. One of the natives told a stunned Jesuit: "We pray to this cross, Father, because a man died on it who was more glorious than the sun itself." The similarity of sacred texts was frightening. In the Maya book Popol Vuh, as in the Bible, there was mention of the Tree of Good and Evil. The legend of the Great Flood matched down to the smallest detail. The story of the Tower of Babel had an exact copy in Toltec legends. Ultimately, the church successfully hid inconvenient manuscripts in secret Vatican archives. Everything else was literally burned by missionaries. But other physical evidence has survived. In the Amazon jungle, Europeans encountered light-skinned, bearded, red-haired people. The Tapuyas tribe in Brazil was almost completely wiped out by neighboring cannibals. Another white tribe, the Mandanas, died out from smallpox in the 19th century. The dominant caste of the Inca Empire - the Incas themselves - were also light-skinned. According to legend, they arrived from the sea. But from where? 8. The Stone Library and Two Outcomes Some discoveries are so fantastic that they are easier to dismiss as hoaxes. For example, the Ica Stones from Peru. Dr. Javier Cabrera's collection consisted of thousands of Andesite boulders with engravings. They depict humans hunting dinosaurs, performing complex surgeries including heart transplants, astronomers observing stars through telescopes, and cartographers drawing the outlines of unknown continents. The age of these stones is undetermined. They portray a civilization with knowledge that we only attained in the 20th century. The famous Mayan crystal skull was carved with such perfection that Hewlett-Packard experts stated that it would take 300 years of continuous manual labor to polish it. Other strange written artifacts include unreadable objects like the Festos Disk from the island of Crete. This is a clay tablet with hieroglyphs stamped onto it, dating to the 2nd millennium BCE. Hieroglyphs on seals of the Harappan civilization of India from the 3rd-2nd millennia BCE. Also, inscriptions from ancient Armenia, tablets zith strange symbols. These artifacts compel us to reconsider human origins. Anthropologist Michael S. Shilachi proposed a hypothesis of two waves of migration from Africa. The first, more ancient (around 100,000 years ago), populated the Middle East, Australia, and Indonesia. The second, about 50,000 years ago, gave rise to modern Europeans. Perhaps we are a product of mixing these branches, or even more ancient populations, traces of which are lost in the million-year-old past. Who knows? 9. The Day the Sky Fell Then, some catastrophe occurred. All peoples remember it. Maya codices state: "The sky approached the earth, and in one day everything perished. Even the mountains disappeared beneath the water." Popol Vuh describes people fleeing in panic as their homes collapsed. The Earth, apparently, left its orbit. The calendar found in the mysterious city of Tiahuanaco in the Andes - now at an altitude of 4,000 meters and once a port - indicates that the year before this catastrophe lasted 290 days. This also explains biblical longevity - their years were simply shorter than ours. Sumerian cuneiform texts from the British Museum mention the event: "When the heavens fell and the earth trembled, a people remained standing on their feet." It seems this is our answer. The civilization of giants and the "white gods," bearers of high knowledge, fell victim to some global catastrophe. Their traces are not anomalies but evidence of an era preceding our "official" historical timeline. Why did people build Tiahuanaco from blocks weighing 200 tons? How to explain that bronze appeared simultaneously in Europe and Mexico in perfect form? Perhaps the answer lies in the fact that survivors of some destroyed civilization tried to preserve knowledge and pass it on to the remaining, but wild, descendants. Who knows what past we have collectively forgotten? 10. Epilogue: Cycles of the Apocalypse Thus, the picture becomes painfully clear. The Earth is a giant hourglass. The sand is civilizations. They rise, reach incredible heights, but then a catastrophe occurs - a strike from space, a pole shift. The sand flows into the lower half of the hourglass, and everything begins anew. Surviving communities regress, their knowledge turns into myths. An iron nail in 55-million-year-old rock, a footprint next to a trilobite, a self-regulating nuclear reactor - these are not errors of nature. They are traces of those who lived before us. Fourteen thousand years - just one such cycle. But if we look deeper, an abyss of time opens up, where our current achievements are merely echoes of great civilizations of the past, whose shadows still wander across Earth and Mars, imprinted in stone and in our oldest legends.
