To shift metadata dates of photos forward by a year:

exiftool -AllDates+="1:0:0 0:0:0" -r IMG/

Paramater has the format "Y:M:D h:m:s". See perldoc Image::ExifTool::Shift.pl
for more details.

This works for CR2s as well as JPEGs.
