Living alone is more expensive than for couples who can divide the costs, share the resources. Just the cost of basics can burn through money. A couple get discounts, single people never do and we pay top dollar: An increasing issue. So what do you do, downsize? I finally got rid of more stuff, I put my work chair up for sale, and it sold in minutes. Another piece of the jigsaw. Then sold a floor lamp. I'm letting go of stuff. Too much stuff gives me anxiety This is how I see it playing out. Increasingly it will be empty halls, clarity, the people just shadows and I want it to be formal. The project now is to not-acquire things although some things can be tempting. No more stuff to impress people, who deep down, don't like us. I think the emptiness signifies something about me, which is uncomplexity. The advantage of being alone is I don't have to feel I'm in anyone's way, or have to debate about anything. There is a freedom. If I was in a sharing situation the other person could be too regimented. I'm more mystical, or spiritual which a regimented person does not like and could lash out at me verbally. It could be dangerous for me. Slow living too versus hasty living/ nervous wreck. / ../ /
