I will tell you each and every step you need to take to complete this game from start to finish. My instructions are pretty easy to understand, when I say "go up one screen", you should walk straight up until the background screen changes. When I say, "go right one screen", walk the character right until the background screen changes. Easy. When you get to the actual walkthrough, anything you read in parenthesis () is not a direct command; it is just what you will see happening on screen after you did the last command or just some helpful information. Anything that is not in parenthesis is a command, and is something you must do. When I use the term "near side of the screen", I mean stuff in the foreground. When I say "far side of the screen", I mean stuff in the background. ======================================================================= |-II.---------------------- THE STORY SO FAR -------------------------| ======================================================================= Welcome to the wild world of middle-aged singlehood! You'll play this game as Larry Laffer, a 38 year old swinger with a one track mind; YOU MUST GET LAID BY MIDNIGHT!!! Consider all other objectives secondary. As you make your way through the "land of the land lizards", you'll try your luck with all the local ladies to make your dream a reality. That's right, in this game you get to play as a 38-year-old virgin, Yippee! But with all your charms and just a little luck, you can change all that in one night. Alright, maybe a LOT of luck. ======================================================================= |-III.----------------------- THE CONTROLS ---------------------------| ======================================================================= Unlike the original version of this game, you will not type in commands. Instead you will use an icon and cursor system. There are ten icons that you can use by pulling the cursor to the very top of the screen. Reading them from left to right, they go in this order... =-Walk-= This icon tells you character where to walk. Clicking it on doors makes you walk into that door. To move to a new screen, drag it as far to one side as possible, and click. This icon looks like a stickman walking. =-Look-= Use this icon to ask the game what an object looks like. Just click it on an object, and a yellow text box will appear that gives you any available information on the object you just clicked on. This icon looks like an open eye. =-Touch-= This icon allows you to use an object, like a door or button. Just click it on whatever object you want to manipulate. This is how you will pick most objects up. This icon looks like the back of a right hand. (something Larry is no doubt very familiar with) =-Talk-= This icon is how you speak to people. Just click it on whomever, or whatever, you wish to communicate with. This icon looks like a large, light blue speech bubble. =-Zipper-= This is how you will command Larry to have sex with a woman you meet (if you're lucky) and will also tell him to take off his clothes. Naturally, this icon looks like a pants zipper. =-Taste and Smell-= This allows you to taste or smell any object, or person, you might run into as you make your way through the game. This icon looks like a nose above a large set of bright-red lips. =-Current Item-= This icon is how you use an item. In it is whatever the last item you used was. Just click it on whomever, or whatever, you want to use the item on. Naturally, it looks like whatever item you used last. =-Inventory-= This is how you look at your items, open items, choose items, or use items on other items. This icon looks like a big brown briefcase. =-Control Panel-= This icon lets you control how the game actually runs. From here you can save, restore, restart, quit, read some quick credits, go back to the game, change the detail in the graphics, change the volume, change the game speed, and see your current score. This icon looks like a switch panel. =-Help-= This doesn't have much use, it just tells you what all the other icons do. It looks like a polka-dotted question mark. After you click on each icon (excluding inventory, control panel, and help) your cursor becomes that icon. This is how you will move, interact with characters, and use objects. Now that you know what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how you're gonna do it, lets get started with the walkthrough. I think Larry's been waiting long enough for this night! ======================================================================= |-IV.---------------------- THE WALKTHROUGH --------------------------| ======================================================================= Because this game isn't actually split up into separate levels, I have divided it into three sections. Each section represents a woman you are going after, in the order you are supposed to do them in. Also, it is a good idea to use the breath spray on yourself every so often. If you've gone to long without it, the game will start to comment on the sour smells pouring from your mouth, so stay fresh. Got it? Good, then let's go... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | Looking for Love at Lefty's | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Your adventure begins just outside a seedy little bar by the name of "Lefty's". You'll be run over if you step into the street below, and you'll be beaten to death if you step into the alley on the left. The neon glow of the "Lefty's" sign calls you name, so we'd better answer.) Use the HAND cursor on the red door to "Lefty's". Once inside, sit down at the only available barstool. Click the TALK cursor on the bartender. When he asks you want drink you would like to order, click "Whiskey". (You won't actually drink the whiskey, but instead pocket it for later use.) Now, use the WALK cursor to stand up from the barstool. Use the WALK cursor to enter the doorway to the left of the bar. Once inside the back room, walk up to the small blue table and use the HAND cursor to pick up the rose. Use the TALK cursor on the drunk sleeping next to the bathroom door. When he's done talking, take the whiskey out of your inventory and click it on him. As a show of gratitude for your assistance in feeding his drinking problem, he'll give you a TV remote control. (Where'd he get that?) Use the HAND cursor to open the door to the bathroom. Once inside, click the LOOK cursor on the bathroom wall four times. (On the fourth time it will tell you a password, "Ken Sent Me", which you'll actually put in your inventory) Use the HAND cursor on the bathroom sink to pick up someone's lost diamond ring. Click the HAND on the filthy toilet to take a dump. When you're finishing "cleaning house", use the WALK cursor to get back up from the toilet seat. Use the HAND cursor to exit the bathroom. The smell, sadly, will not leave so easily. Use the WALK cursor to exit the screen at the bottom and go back into the main room of the bar. Use the HAND cursor to knock on the red door on the far right wall of the bar. When they ask you for the password, take the "Ken Sent Me" out of your inventory and use it on the door. (In this room there is something very important upstairs, but the pimp is currently blocking you way. You need something to distract his attention. Maybe there's something good on TV.) Take the remote control out of your inventory and click it on the TV set near the bottom of the screen to turn it on. Keep using it to change the station until you find something good. (When you've changed the station seven times, a porno movie will come up on screen. Finally, the pimp will lose interest in everything except the television. But don't go up the stairs just yet, there are a few things Larry needs to do first.) Use the HAND cursor to open the door and exit back into the bar. Use the WALK cursor to walk off the bottom of the screen and out onto the sidewalk. Use the HAND cursor on the small white sign on the telephone pole to your left. It is a taxi pick-up sign, and it is how you will travel from one building to another throughout this game. When the cab pulls up, use the HAND cursor to climb in and speed off down the street. Use the TALK cursor on the cabbie to get a quick description of the locale, and then he'll give you a list of places he can take you. Click "Convenience Store". (When the taxicab comes to a stop, the cabbie will tell you the total) Take your wallet out of your inventory and use it on the cab driver. Use the EXIT cursor, which has temporarily replaced the WALK cursor, and click anywhere outside the vehicle. (You now sit outside of this town's one-and-only "Quicki-Mart", a small convenience store that also has the only useable telephone. If you ever need to make a call, this is where to go. It looks quiet inside, which is good, because Larry needs to make a "personal" purchase.) Use the LOOK cursor on the pay phone that is to the right of the entrance to the store. Now, use the HAND cursor on the phone. Press in the number "555-6969" and wait for the call to connect. (You'll answer a several odd questions and then get hung up on.) Use the WALK cursor to enter the convenience store. Walk up to the far back wall and use the HAND cursor on the far right shelf. (You just picked up a box of wine. The finest wine you can get around here, that also comes in a box anyway.) Use the LOOK cursor on the small sign on the counter, the one that talks about the sale of "lubbers". Use the TALK cursor to ask the clerk for a condom. Take your wallet out of your inventory and use it on the store clerk so you'll pay for the stuff. Use the WALK cursor to exit the store. When the homeless man walks up to you, take the box-o-wine out of your inventory and give it to him. (You really like to get people drunk, don't you?) He'll give you a nice little pocketknife in exchange for the booze. Now, use the HAND cursor on the payphone, which should be ringing. (You'll get a funny little message involving all the questions you answered just a minute ago.) Use the HAND cursor on the taxi sign to call a cab. When it pulls up, use the HAND cursor to climb inside. When the driver asks, tell him you want to go to "Lefty's Bar". When you reach your destination, take your wallet out of your inventory and use it on the cabbie. Use the EXIT cursor outside the vehicle to climb out onto the sidewalk. Next, use the HAND cursor on the door to the bar and enter. Use the password to get into the "pimp's room" just like last time. (By now, you've probably figured out what is awaiting you upstairs.) Walk up the red stairs in the back and up into the hooker's room. Now, use the ZIPPER cursor to take off your clothes. Take the condom out of your inventory and use it on yourself. Use the ZIPPER cursor on the woman on the bed to do the nasty. (You'll be treated to a funny little cut-scene of Larry finally losing it. Better late than never. You won't actually get to see it, but it's funny how the "CENSORED" sign moves up and down with you. After about a minute you'll be done and Larry will stand back up.) Use the HAND cursor on your Larry's crotch area to remove your now all used up protection. Walk over to the table on the right side of the room and use the HAND cursor on the small red object. (You just stole a box of chocolate, and for some reason your "date" doesn't really seem to notice.) Use the HAND cursor on the window to open it up, and then use it again to climb out onto the fire escape. Now, walk to the left and fall right down into the garbage dumpster. Use the HAND cursor on the dumpster to search around inside it, and you'll find an old hammer. Use the HAND cursor again, and you'll pick the hammer up. (You finally did it Larry; you lost your virginity, and not a moment too soon. Well, are you satisfied? No? Then I guess we're not done yet. Maybe it's not just your "lil' Larry" we should be trying to please.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | Falling For Fawn | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Since Larry's still not satisfied, maybe we need a different kind of woman. There's always classy women to be found at the local disco, but how is Larry gonna get in, and who will he find inside if he does? Who knows, even the future Mrs. Laffer.) Go around the corner on the left and then use the HAND cursor to hail a taxi. When it pulls up, use the HAND cursor to climb inside. Tell the driver you want to go back to the convenience store, pay him when you reach your destination, and exit the vehicle. Use the WALK cursor to go inside the store. Walk up to the shelf that is closest to you and on your right. Use the HAND cursor on the magazine rack to pick up the most recent edition of "Jugs". Walk up to the counter, take your wallet out of your inventory, and pay him for the magazine. Now, go into your inventory and look at the magazine. (Larry will get a hint about something he'll do later in the game, as well as a nice little look at the centerfold. Remember I said Larry would get a look, not you.) Use the WALK cursor to exit the store. Use the HAND cursor on the payphone nearby. Enter in the number "209-683-8989" and wait for the call to connect. (You'll just read a little joke from the writers of the game, because the number you just called is the real number to Sierra On-Line.) Now, use the HAND cursor on the sign to call another cab. Tell him to take you to the Casino. When you get there, pay the driver and get out of the car. Don't go in yet, but instead go right one screen. Walk up to the man in the trench coat, who actually turns out to be a couple of naked midgets (???) and use the TALK cursor on them) Now, go left one screen. (You should see a man wearing a barrel walking into view from the left side of the screen. If not, go right one and then left one again until he shows up.) Use the WALK cursor to enter the casino. Once inside, use the HAND cursor on the purple machine to your left. It's an electronic blackjack machine, and will act as your main source of income. (By now, you probably are in desperate need of some more funds, and this is the only place in this game for you to make money. I find it easiest if you don't take any risks in the casino. For starters, save your game before you do anything. Now put all of your money into the machine as a bet. If you win the hand, save the game, But if you lose the hand, restore your old game. Use this strategy until you reach about a thousand dollars. That's plenty, and you'll have a chance to get more money later.) When you've reached the $1000 marker, leave the machine and use the WALK cursor to go up one screen. Use the HAND cursor on the small ashtray near the middle of this room. (You just picked up a membership card to the local disco.) Use the WALK cursor to go back down two screens and back out into the street. Use the HAND cursor on the sign on the pole to whistle for a taxi. When it stops in front of you, use the HAND cursor to climb inside. Tell the driver you want to go to the disco, and use your wallet to pay him when the taxi comes to a stop. Climb out of the taxi and walk up to the large club bouncer. Take the card out of your inventory and use it on the bouncer. (He'll step aside and let you into the club) Use the HAND cursor on the empty chair you see next to the woman in the purple dress. Use the LOOK cursor on her to get a full-screen view of the woman. Use the TALK cursor on her until she starts talking about how much she likes presents. Now, take the rose out of your inventory and use it on her. Then, take the candy out of your inventory and use it on her. Finally, take that diamond ring you stole out of your inventory and use it on her. (With that third gift, Fawn will invite you to dance. You'll get to see a nice little scene showing off Larry's dancing skills.) When the dance is done, sit back down with her and use the TALK cursor on her again. (She will say she's fallen in love with you, but won't do you unless you marry here. She'll ask you for $400 for a hotel room, with a promise of great things to come. *pun*) So, take your wallet out of your inventory and use it on her. (She'll take the money and gleefully run off. As she leaves, she tells you to meet here down at the wedding chapel. It looks like you've found the one Larry!) Use the WALK cursor to get up from the chair and leave the bar. Use the HAND cursor to whistle for a cab and get in it. Tell him to take you down to the wedding chapel. When you get there, take your wallet out and pay him. Then climb out of the vehicle. Use the HAND cursor on the door to the church to enter it. (You'll going to lose actual control of Larry for the duration of your short and sweet wedding ceremony, but there's nothing you have to do in here anyway. After the quick little ceremony, Fawn will run off to the hotel room and you'll get control of Larry again.) As soon as you can, use the WALK cursor to exit the chapel. When you get outside, walk left one screen and enter the casino. While inside the casino, go up one screen and walk into the circular elevator. Use the HAND cursor on the panel of buttons inside the elevator and press the button for the Fourth floor. Once you get up there, use the HAND cursor on the door that has a big pink heart on it. (You'll knock on the door and Fawn will invite you in.) Use the HAND cursor to turn on the radio, and wait for a commercial to come on. When you hear the little commercial for Ajax Liquors and receive the phone number, it's time to leave again. (You need to order some wine if you want to get Fawn in the mood) So, use the HAND cursor on the door and, crazy as it sounds, exit the honeymoon suite. Get back into the elevator and use the HAND cursor to get back to the First floor. Use the WALK cursor to exit the casino, and get back outside. Use the HAND cursor on the sign to call a cab. When it gets there, use the HAND cursor to climb in. Tell him you want to go to the convenience store. When you get there, pay him the fare and climb out. Use the HAND cursor on the nearby payphone. Call the number "555-8039" and wait for them to answer. (Larry will actually complete the call for you. He'll tell them to deliver a bottle of fine wine to the honeymoon suite at the casino hotel. Now let's hurry and get back; Larry's got some work to do!) Use the HAND cursor on the sign to call yourself a taxi. When it parks in front of you, use the HAND cursor to climb in. Tell him you want to go to the casino, pay him when you get there, and climb out onto the sidewalk. Use the WALK cursor to enter the casino, and then use it again to get to the elevator. Get into the elevator and use the HAND cursor to ascend to the Fourth floor. Use the HAND cursor to knock on the honeymoon suite door and enter it. First, use the TALK cursor on Fawn and she'll ask for some wine. Use the HAND cursor on the bottle of wine on the counter to pour a few glasses. Next, use the HAND cursor on Fawn for a little bit of foreplay. (emphasis on "little") Now, you're ready to go. Use the ZIPPER cursor on Larry to get him undressed. (The rest will take care of itself. But, you will soon realize that tonight was not at all the night you expected. This theory becomes clearest when you find yourself tied down to the bed and Fawn walking out of the room with all of your money. I guess you and her just weren't meant to be. All well.) Take the pocketknife out of your inventory and use it on the ribbon. (Larry will cut himself free of his plastic shackles with some quick knife work, and then put his clothes back on. It is then that he realizes that Fawn missed the $10 bucks he had hidden in his wallet. There's still a chance for him yet!) Use the HAND cursor on the pile of ribbon on the bed so you can take some with you. Finally, use the HAND cursor on the door to leave. (It seems that Larry's married life was short, a lot shorter than even he expected. He leaves his once promising honeymoon suite with broken dreams, a broken heart, and almost just plain broke. Looks like we need some more money. Good thing there's a casino downstairs. Lets get going.) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= | An Evening With Eve | =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (Larry's search for love continues, with not too much time left in the night. His first stop is the downstairs casino, more precisely the blackjack machines. Ahh casinos, it seems the only place where Larry can get lucky.) Use the HAND cursor on the purple blackjack machine and use the same money-making technique you employed last time. You should stop at about $500, at least. When you've made your money back, exit the casino using the WALK cursor. Use the HAND cursor to call yourself a taxi, get in it, and head to back to Lefty's Bar. When you get there, pay the cab driver and exit the vehicle. Use the HAND cursor to open the door and enter. Use the HAND cursor to knock on the red door on your right and then give him the password from your inventory. Use the WALK cursor to go up the red stairs and into the hooker's room. (No, you're not going to do her again.) Use the HAND cursor to climb out of the window and onto the fire escape. Take the ribbon out of your inventory and use it on yourself. Then, use it on the metal railing. Now, use the HAND cursor on the little bottle of pills on the other window ledge. (Larry, using information he learned earlier in the "Jugs" magazine, will hang off of the ledge and try to reach the pills.) Take the hammer out of your inventory and use it on the window to break it. Now, use the HAND cursor on the little bottle of pills and you'll pick it up. Use the HAND cursor on the metal railing to climb back onto the fire escape. Walk to the left and fall into the trash dumpster. Use the WALK cursor to climb back out of the trash, and then walk around the corner. Use the HAND cursor to call yourself a cab, climb inside, and then catch a ride back to the casino. When you get there pay him for the ride and climb out. Use the WALK cursor to enter the casino and then up again. Enter the elevator and go up to the very top floor. When you make it up there, walk over to the women at the desk and use the TALK cursor on her. Keep talking to her until she starts repeating the exact same thing over and over again. Then, use the bottle of pills on her. (The bottle of Spanish Fly gave here an amazing sex drive. Unfortunately, she is only interested in here boyfriend. Looks like you've failed again. I'm starting to think our buddy Larry is never gonna find what he's looking for. Use the HAND cursor on the little desk the woman use to be standing at. (You will activate the only button that opens up the private elevator to your right. Whatever's up there, it has to be more interesting than this place.) Use the WALK cursor to get in the elevator. Once you make it up to the penthouse, use the WALK cursor to enter the room at the upper right half of the screen. You can't actually see the doorway, but it is there. Now, use the HAND cursor on the door you see on the far right. (Inside you'll find something very odd, a blow-up-doll. Maybe tonight won't be an entire waste after all.) Use the MOUTH cursor on the doll to fill it up with air. Now, click the ZIPPER cursor on the doll and you'll try to hump it. (You're getting desperate Larry!) (The doll will pop, and go flying across the penthouse. It will lead you to a very pleasant surprise; a naked young woman in a Jacuzzi.) Walk over to her and use the TALK cursor to strike up a little conversation. After a while she'll ask you to join her. Use the ZIPPER cursor to strip down and hop in with her. To catch a better glimpse of her, use the HAND cursor on the little red button to her right to shut off the bubbles. Take the apple out of your inventory and give it to Eve. (This is all it takes to make her yours. If Larry had known it was this easy, he would have bought all the apples that guy had. But lets not get greedy Larry; tonight, you got exactly what you came for. You put an end to that empty feeling inside of you. No more trying to fill it with booze anymore! Nice work Larry, you've earned it) ======================================================================= |-V.------------------------ THE POINT LIST --------------------------| ======================================================================= There are a total of 222 points to be earned in this game, and this list will tell you how to get 216. =-Looking For Love At Lefty's-= Buy the whiskey--------------------1 point Get the rose-----------------------1 point Get the remote---------------------2 points Read "Ken Sent Me"-----------------2 points Get diamond ring-------------------3 points Use the bathroom-------------------1 point Change the channel seven times----11 points Take your first trip in the taxi---1 point Look at payphone-------------------1 point Call "555-6969"--------------------2 points Buy the box of wine----------------1 point Ask clerk for a condom-------------4 points Answer the payphone----------------5 points Get the knife from the bum---------5 points Put on condom---------------------10 points Have sex with hooker--------------11 points Remove used condom-----------------1 point Take box of candy------------------2 points Take hammer out of dumpster--------3 points =-Falling For Fawn-= Buy a copy of "Jugs" magazine------1 point Read the "Jugs" magazine-----------1 point Call "209-683-8989"----------------5 points Talk to the nude midgets-----------1 point Purchase an apple------------------3 points Pick up the membership card--------1 point Show card to bouncer---------------5 points Sit down next to Fawn--------------1 point Say something to Fawn--------------1 point Give Fawn the candy----------------5 points Give Fawn the flowers--------------5 points Give Fawn the diamond ring---------5 points Give Fawn the money----------------7 points Get married to Fawn---------------12 points Hear "555-8039" on radio-----------2 points Call "555-8039"--------------------5 points Use the knife to cut the ribbon---10 points Pick up the ribbon-----------------3 points =-An Evening with Eve-= Get the bottle of pills------------8 points Give the pills to Faith------------5 points Get in the private elevator--------5 points Open closet door-------------------5 points Blow up the doll-------------------5 points Try to hump the doll---------------8 points Give Eve the apple----------------15 points Have sex with Eve-----------------15 points ** This list is missing six points. It could be an inside joke that you may have missed, or something you would only see if you knew exactly what you were looking for. Got it? Good, then here they are... 1 - When Larry sits down to use the bathroom at Lefty's Bar, he reads "The Ball Street Journal", which is a play off of the business newspaper "The Wall Street Journal". 2 - The password "Ken Sent Me" is probably referring to Ken Williams, who was the CEO of Sierra On-Line (the company that made this game) at that time. 3 - One of the TV shows you go past in the pimp's room is an episode of "Mister Roger's Neighborhood". 4 - No matter what size of condom you ask for from the clerk, he will always announce that you just bought a "super-small sized lubber" 5 - The hammer you take out of the dumpster is somehow a "left-handed tool" 6 - At the time this game was made, calling the number "209-683-8989" in real life would connect you to the actual Sierra On-Line hints and tips line. 7 - The face on the Disco membership card is clearly of a black guy, but the bouncer still accepts it. 8 - Everyone in the disco is dressed in a leisure suit that is just like Larry's. Also, everyone in the room is a cartoon version of someone who worked on the game. Below is a list of who you're see in there: Lead Programmer Oliver Brelsford and Programmer Mike Larsen are seated in the table on the bottom left side of the screen. Seated in the table just above those two are Director and Creator of "Leisure Suit Larry" Al Lowe, and the Art Designer William Skirvin. Animator Barry Smith and an unknown man named Kevin are taking a break at the table on the bottom right corner of the screen. And the tall, lanky character in the chair in the upper right corner is Animator Roger Hardy Jr. 9 - It's not so much an easter egg, but am I the only one that finds it odd that Eve has a closet in her room that is only for the specific purpose of holding her blow-up-doll. ======================================================================= |-VII.------------------------ IN CLOSING ----------------------------| ======================================================================= My e-mail address is at the top of this document, please e-mail me if there are any corrections that need to be made to this FAQ, if you have anything to add that I missed.
