Finally acquired the 200th officer, finishing the FAQ. - - - -Officer biographies- 001 Zhao Yun (Shu) ?- 229 A Shu officer. Formerly a servant of Yuan Shao and later Gongsun Zan, he changed loyalties to Liu Bei, impressed by his virtiousness and personality. Bold and daring, he single-handedly charged through the enemy army at the Battle of Chang Ban in order to rescue Liu Bei's son, Liu Chan. He was among the Five Tiger generals of the Shu Kingdom. 002 Guan Yu (Shu) 162- 219 A Shu officer. Sworn brother of Liu Bei and Zhang Fei, he was the leader of the Five Tigers and helped build the foundation of the Shu Kingdom. With his strong sense of duty and bravery, he was labeled a warrior without equal. Guan Yu was also known for his beautiful, long beard. 003 Zhang Fei (Shu) 168- 221 An officer of Shu and member of the Five Tigers. Sworn brother of Liu Bei and Guan Yu. At the battle of Chang Ban, he alone rode out on the Chang Ban Bridge and gave a powerful shout, frightening off one million of Cao Cao's troops, who were in pursuit. A lover of wine and drink, it often led to his defeat in battle more times than not. 004 Xiahou Dun (Wei) ?- 220 A Wei officer. Is related to Cao Cao. It is said that he lost his eye to an arrow in a battle with Lu Bu, but since it was given to him at birth, he removed it from the arrow and ate it. Later, he commanded numerous troops and fought in various places, serving as Cao Cao's right-hand man. 005 Dian Wei (Wei) ?- 197 A giant of a man often referred to as pure evil. Served as Cao Cao's personal bodyguard and was constantly by his side. After Zhang Xiu's night attack on Wan Castle, he alone stood before the enemy troops, giving his life so that Cao Cao could escape. 006 Xu Zhu (Wei) ?- ? A Wei officer. An extremely large man possibly as big around as he is tall. As capable in battle as the great Dian Wei, he also served as Cao Cao's personal bodyguard. Normally an average and absent-minded man, he transformed on the battlefield, fighting with the fierceness of a tiger, earning him the nickname Crazy Tiger. 007 Zhou Yu (Wu) 175- 210 A Wu officer. He was the sworn brother of his Lord, Sun Ce. According to Sun Ce's will, he became chief lieutenant to the young Sun Quan. At the Battle of Chi Bi, he served as the commander, leading his fleet to victory over the much larger forces of Cao Cao. He was often complimented on his good looks. 008 Lu Xun (Wu) 183- 245 A Wu officer and married to Sun Ce's daughter. A very thoughtful young man whose distinguished service was rewarded with a promotion from Sun Quan. In cooperation with Lu Meng, he managed to defeat Guan Yu and succeeded in recapturing the Jing Province. Also, at the Battle of Yi Ling, he served as Supreme Commander, leading Wu to a carefully planned victory over Liu Bei and the massive Shu army. 009 Taishi Ci (Wu) 166- 206 An officer of Wu. With his strong sense of duty and a feeling of obligation to his mother, he saved Kong Rong, the viceroy of Bei Hai, from danger. Later, he serves Liu Yong and fights Sun Ce to a draw. Liu Yong eventually loses to Sun Ce, forcing Taishi Ci to submit to Sun Ce, serving him from there on. 010 Diao Chan (Other) ?- ? A young songstress unequaled in beauty as well as song and dance. Raised by Wang Yun as his own daughter. For the sake of Wang, who is fearful of Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu, she got close to both of them, and succeeded in tearing their relationship apart, with Lu Bu later killing Dong Zhuo. 011 Zhuge Liang (Shu) 181- 234 The Shu strategist and advisor. Liu Bei completely trusted Zhuge Liang, also called the "Sleeping Dragon". After Liu Bei honored him with three visits, he decided to join the young Shu leader. Skilled in both domestic and foreign affairs, he contributed largely to the founding of the Shu Kingdom. He attempted to conquer the Northern territories on five different occasions, but was finally defeated at the Wu Zhang Plains. 012 Cao Cao (Wei) 155- 220 The Wei ruler. He was labeled the "Hero of a Troubled Land". Skilled in the arts and in warfare, he wrote numerous books on strategy and tactics. During the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he joined the Imperial army, distinguishing himself on the field of battle. Following the death of Dong Zhuo, he strengthened his foothold in the troubled central plains, thereby establishing the foundation for what would become the giant Wei Empire. 013 Lu Bu (Other) ?- 198 The mighty Lu Bu. Skilled in all the martial arts, especially archery and horse riding. It was often said, "Among men, Lu Bu... Among horses, Red Hare..." Red Hare, who could run 1000 miles in a single day, and Lu Bu, who brandished his fabled Lunar Spear. Loyal only to himself, he cut down his own stepfather, Ding Yuan, and joined Dong Zhuo, only to later betray him as well. 014 Sun Shang Xiang (Wu) ?- ? The daughter of the Sun clan. She is the younger sister of both Sun Ce and Sun Quan. A somewhat manly woman, she took interest in the martial arts from a young age. She later became Liu Bei's wife, but it is said that her ladies-in-waiting were constantly outside her room, dressed in full armor. 015 Liu Bei (Shu) 161- 223 The first Emperor of the Shu Kingdom. Along with his sworn brothers, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, he participated in the campaign against the Yellow Turbans. After fighting in various battles, he established the Shu Kingdom, signifying the beginning of the Three Kingdoms era. His aim was to restore the Han Dynasty, thereby bringing peace to the troubled land. 016 Sun Jian (Wu) 156- 192 A great hero descended from the legendary Sun Tzu. He made a name for himself by defeating a band of pirates. After distinguishing himself in battle against the Yellow Turbans, he became the governor of Chang Sha. He served as the vanguard for the Allied forces against Dong Zhuo, being the first to reach the city of Luo Yang. Following the battle, he found the Imperial Seal hidden within a well and took it back home with him. 017 Sun Quan (Wu) 182- 252 The first Emperor of the Wu Kingdom. He was the second son of Sun Jian and the younger brother of Sun Ce. He succeeded the family line, following Sun Ce's sudden death. Of his younger brother, Sun Ce is to have said, "You believe that your offense is strong, but in actuality, it is your defense which is stronger". At the Battle of Chi Bi, Sun Quan met the much larger forces of Cao Cao and managed to emerge victorious. 018 Dong Zhuo (Other) ?- 192 Former Prefect of Xi Liang. He was summoned to Luo Yang by He Jin to protect the young Han Emperor, but he quickly usurped the Imperial Court's power and began a reign of terror. He adopted the mighty warrior Lu Bu as his son, who allowed his tyranny to grow even further, but in the end he was betrayed by Lu Bu and assassinated. 019 Yuan Shao (Other) ?- 202 A member of the distinguished Yuan clan, he became the leader of the Allied forces in the movement against Dong Zhuo. Following Dong Zhuo's death, he fought with Cao Cao, who was trying to take control of the central plains. However, despite his large army at the Battle of Guan Du, internal strife and various other troubles such as the attack of his supply depot led to a major defeat. 020 Ma Chao (Shu) 176- 222 The eldest son of Ma Teng, he received the nickname, "Ma Chao the Splendid" due to his skills as a warrior. In an attempt to avenge his father, he commanded an army of troops from Xi Liang to attack Cao Cao at Chang An, but lost. He later went on to serve Liu Bei. He proposed numerous strategies, such as the capture of Han Zhong. He was counted among Shu's Five Tigers. 021 Huang Zhong (Shu) ?- 222 A Shu officer. Masterful with a bow, he was capable of hitting a target 100 out of 100 tries. He served both Liu Biao and Han Xuan. While under Han Xuan, he had a fierce battle with Guan Yu. He later served Liu Bei and served in the Yi Province and in the Battle of Mt. Ding Jun. He accompanied Liu Bei during his ascension to the throne of Han Zhong, and was appointed to the Five Tigers. 022 Xiahou Yuan (Wei) ?- 219 A Wei officer and brother to Xiahou Dun. He worked with Cao Cao from the beginning, bearing one wing of Cao Cao's newly formed army. Famous for his lighting quick attacks, he had a long list of accomplishments, including defeating Ma Chao. However, at the Battle of Mt. Ding Jun, he was drawn out by a Shu general, and killed by Huang Zhong. 023 Zhang Liao (Wei) 169- 224 A Wei officer. In the beginning, he fought in various battles under Lu Bu. After Lu Bu's death, he served under Cao Cao. During his defense of He Fei, he managed to repel over 100,000 Wu troops with just 800 men. He was so feared that it was said that even crying children stopped their tears when he appeared. He was promoted to the head of the five Wei Generals. 024 Sima Yi (Wei) 179- 251 A Wei vassal. He was promoted after Cao Cao recognized his talent and ability. In the battle with Shu, he refused to be lured out by Zhuge Liang, putting his heart and soul into a strong defensive effort, which resulted in victory. After serving four generations of the Cao family, he won a battle with Cao Shuang to seize control of the Wei Empire, laying the foundation for what would eventually become the Jin Dynasty. 025 Lu Meng (Wu) 178- 219 A Wu officer. Already an accomplished warrior, he devoted himself to learning and became a paradigm of wisdom and valor after being admonished by Sun Quan. He was greatly admired by his senior, Lu Su as a great servant of the Wu Kingdom. Together with Lu Xun, they retook the Jing Province, capturing the great Guan Yu in the process. 026 Gan Ning (Wu) ?- 222 A Wu officer. A former pirate, he attached bells to himself and surrounded himself with other ruffians. He served under both Liu Biao and Huang Zu, but after being passed over for promotion, he took services to Sun Quan, who at the recommendation of Zhou Yu and Lu Meng, welcomed him to Wu. He later fought at Chi Bi and in the campaign against Wei. 027 Jiang Wei (Shu) 202- 264 An officer of Shu. He once belonged to Wei, but was caught in a plot by Zhuge Liang, who had come to conquer the North, and joined Shu. Filled with admiration for Zhuge Liang, he was treated as a successor and was even entrusted with Zhuge Liang's strategy books. After his mentor's death, he vowed to fulfill Zhuge Liang's ambition, and continued the attack against the North. 028 Zhang Jiao (Other) ?- 184 A former government official out of the Ju Lu Territory. He spread his teachings as the founder of the religious sect known as the Way of Peace. He used the turmoil of the land to gather the support of the people. With these supporters, he formed the group known as the Yellow Turbans. Declaring himself the "General of Heaven", he turned against the Han Dynasty, leading the Yellow Turban Rebellion. 029 Xu Huang (Wei) ?- 227 A Wei officer. A servant of Yang Feng, he joined Cao Cao after being persuaded by Man Chong. He served as an important part of the Wei forces. A wise and valiant general, Cao Cao labeled him "A match for Sun Tzu!" after his victory over the army of Guan Yu at Fan Castle. He was counted among the Five Generals of Wei. 030 Zhang He (Wei) ?- 231 Officer of Wei. Once under the command of Yuan Shao, he was forced into a tight corner due to false charges brought against him by Guo Tu. He then went on to serve Cao Cao and fought mainly against the Shu forces, where his abilities were acknowledged by Zhuge Liang. At the Battle of Jie Ting, he surrounded Ma Su and defeated him. He was counted among the Five Generals of Wei. 031 Zhen Ji (Wei) ?- ? A woman of peerless beauty. She was married to Yuan Shao's second son, Yuan Xi. However, when Cao Cao captured the Ji Province, his son, Cao Pi, fell in love with her at first and immediately made her his wife. 032 Huang Gai (Wu) ?- ? An officer with Wu since the days of Sun Jian. A master of the iron staff. At the Battle of Chi Bi, together with Zhou Yu, he hatched the "Last Resort" plan. After being "attacked" by Zhou Yu, Huang Gai surrendered to Cao Cao, where he then set fire to the Wei fleet, leading to a great victory for Wu. 033 Sun Ce (Wu) 175- 200 The oldest sun of Sun Jian. After his father's death, Sun Ce went to serve Yuan Shu. Later, borrowing 3000 troops in exchange for the Imperial Seal, he went on to raise his own army. In a short while, he had already stabilized the land of Jiang Dong, leading to his nickname of the "Little King". Starting with his old friend Zhou Yu, he went on to gather many talented officers, thereby laying the foundation for the Wu Kingdom. 034 Wei Yan (Shu) ?- 234 A Shu officer. He served under Liu Biao until his death, at which point he joined Liu Bei. At that time, despite his rebellious spirit, and the disapproval of Zhuge Liang, Liu Bei took him in as one of his own, eventually promoting him. He later went on to continue the line of the Five Tigers with his bravery and was a major force in the Shu efforts to take the North. 035 Pang Tong (Shu) 179- 213 An official under Liu Bei. A classmate of Zhuge Liang, he was often compared to the Sleeping Dragon as an accomplished strategist. At the Battle of Chi Bi, he helped carry out the "Linked Ship" plot, ensuring victory for the Allied forces. After joining Liu Bei, he suggested the capture of the Shu lands and led the campaign himself. 036 Meng Huo (Other) ?- ? The King of Nanman. He controlled the land south of Shu, but led a rebellion against them. He fought with Zhuge Liang, who had come on a campaign, but was no match for Zhuge's wit. He was captured seven times, and Zhuge Liang released him each time. This impressed him so much that he agreed to serve Zhuge Liang and the Shu Kingdom. 037 Zhu Rong (Other) ?- ? The wife of Meng Huo, King of Nanman. She was a descendant of the legendary God of Fire, Zhu Rong. Very strong and skilled in the martial arts, he trademark move was a deadly leaping slash attack. Stepping in for her husband, she managed to capture Zhang Yi and Ma Zhong, but was caught herself by Wei Yan and Ma Dai. A hostage exchange ensued, with both parties returning safely. 038 Da Qiao (Wu) ?- ? The daughter of Qiao Xuan. She later married Sun Ce of the Wu Kingdom. Together with her younger sister, Xiao Qiao, they were known as two of the world's great beauties and referred to as the "Two Qiaos". It is said that their beauty shone brighter than any moon or star and put the most beautiful flower to shame. 039 Xiao Qiao (Wu) ?- ? The daughter of Qiao Xuan. She later married Zhou Yu of Wu. Together with her older sister, Da Qiao, they were referred to as the "Two Qiaos". Upon hearing a rumor by Zhuge Liang that Cao Cao was after the Qiao sisters, Zhou Yu proposed war to sun Quan, effectively drawing the Wu Kingdom into the Battle of Chi Bi. 040 Cao Ren (Wei) 168- 223 A general of Wei. Cao Cao's younger cousin. Cao Ren excelled in all martial arts, including archery and horsemanship. At the Battle of Chi Bi, he acted as defender of Jing. Under Cao Pi, he held the rank of Lord Grand Marshal. 041 Zhou Tai (Wu) ?- 225 Officer of Wu. Zhou Tai joined Sun Ce with his former comrade in piracy, Jiang Qin. Despite a serious injury, he succeeded in rescuing Sun Quan when Xuan Cheng was attacked by bandits. At the Battle of Yi Ling, he killed the barbarian general, Sha Moke. 042 Yue Ying (Shu) ?- ? Wife of the great strategist Zhuge Liang. Was said to have supported her husband from the shadows with her knowledge of astronomy, geography and military strategy. She was apparently quite unattractive, but Zhuge Liang pursued her when he heard tales of her wisdom. 043 Ahui Nan (Other) ?- ? An officer under Meng Huo. Leader of the third cave. He came as reinforcements for Meng Huo, but was captured and then released. He once again set out, but was ridiculed to the sound of "Have you no shame?", causing him to withdraw his army. 044 Yin Shang (Wei) ?- ? Head Treasurer of Tian Shui Jun. When his friend Jiang Wei surrendered to Shu Han durnig the first Northern Conquest, Yi Shang walked out of his castle and surrendered as well. He later became Lord of the Capital. 045 Yu Jin (Wei) ?- 221 A brave general who served Cao Cao since he first raised his army. Cao Cao was very impressed with his coolness. He surrendered while defending Fan Castle after being defeated by Guan Yu. Sun Quan sent him back to Wei, but he was disgraced and died of illness. 046 Yuan Shu (Other) ?- 199 Governor of South Yang during the Later Han period. Yuan Shao's half-brother. Recieved Imperial Seal from Sun Ce in exchange for troops. With this, he declared himself Emperor. However, his despotic rule was soon destroyed. 047 Yuan Shang (Other) ?- 207 Yuan Shao's third son. Due to his looks, he was favored by Yuan Shao. After his father's death, he fought with his eldest brother, Yuan Tan, for the throne. Later, he was defeated by Cao Cao and turned to his older brother, Yuan Xi, governor of the You Province. 048 Wang Ping (Shu) ?- 248 A Shu officer. Formerly of Wei, in the battle at Han Zhong, he opposed Xu Huang and defected to Shu. He later went on to serve in both the Northern and Southern campaigns. At Jie Ting, he served under Ma Su and fought well in a losing effort. 049 Wang Fang (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo. After Dong Zhuo's death, he struck a secret pact with bandits who had advanced on Chang An, opening the gate allowing them in. Later, he went to fight Ma Chao, who had rose against the bandits, but lost in a duel with him. 050 Wang Lang (Wei) ?- 228 A vassal of Wei, formerly of the Later Han. He later served Cao Cao, and pressed the Emperor to abdicate. At the Battle of Wei Shui, he tried to debate with Zhuge Liang, but was utterly defeated and died in shame and frustration. 051 Jia Kui (Wei) ?- ? A vassal of Wei. He admonished Cao Zhang for quarreling with his brother Cao Pi over succession to the throne. In the battle against Wu, he joined Cao Xiu as strategist and saw through Zhou Fang's fake defection. 052 He Yi (Other) ?- ? A Yellow Turban rebel. After the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he led a group of surviving followers and captured Ru Nan. After being caught by Xu Zhu, a member of the volunteer army, he was executed by Cao Cao. 053 Hua Xin (Wu) 157- 231 Former Prefect of Yu Zhang who surrendered to Sun Ce, then later served Cao Cao. Although said to have been highly intelligent, Hua Xin was also a cruel and devious individual who once dragged the Han Empress by her hair, and threatened the Han Emperor into abdicating. 054 Jia Xu (Wei) 147- 223 A Wei vassal. He originally served under Li Jue, but dissatisfied with the way he was treated, he left for Zhang Xiu. There, he was a brilliant tactician whose strategies resulted in numerous victories over Cao Cao. He later joined Cao Cao along with his lord Zhang Xiu and recieved a promotion. 055 Guo Jia (Wei) 170- 207 Vassal of Cao Cao, Guo Jia earns his lord's trust through remarkable schemes and judgement. During the conquest of He Bei, he fell sick and died at the age of 38. After his loss at Chi Bi, Cao Cao lamented: "If only I had Guo Jia". 056 Guo Si (Other) ?- 198 An officer under Dong Zhuo. After Dong Zhuo's death, he suddenly attacked Chang An under the advice of Jia Xu. Killing Wang Yun among others, he seized control of the Imperial Court with the help of Li Jue. He later became a bandit, and was killed by his servant Wu Xi. 057 Yue Jin (Wei) ?- 218 A general under Cao Cao. He showed tremendous skill during his many battles and was revered as one of Wei's Five Generals, who included the likes of Zhang Liao, Yu Jin, Xu Huang and Zhang He. 058 Guo Tu (Other) ?- 205 Tactician of Yuan Shao. At the Battle of Guan Du, when Wu Chao was suddenly attacked, Guo Tu's suggestion to attack Cao Cao's base camp led to defeat. After Yuan Shao's death, he became advisor to Yuan Tan. 059 Xiahou Wei (Wei) ?- ? General of Wei. Second son of Xiahou Yuan. On Sima Yi's recommendation, Xiahou Wei took the lead in the war against Shu Han with his eldest brother Xiahou Ba, where they fought Zhuge Liang. He later joined in the war to stop Gongsun Yuan. 060 Xiahou En (Wei) ?- 208 Cao Cao's close associate, he held two of Cao Cao's valued swords, the "Luminous Sword" and the "Sword of Trust". He was killed on the slopes of Chang Ban by Zhao Yun, who made off with the "Sword of Trust". 061 Xiahou Shang (Wei) ?- 225 A Wei officer and nephew of Xiahou Dun. He was taken prisoner at the Battle of Mt. Ding Jun, but was returned home after being traded for Chen Shi. He later attacked Wu while serving Cao Zhen, but was defeated before Lu Xun. 062 Xiahou Ba (Wei) ?- 262 Served as officer for both Wei and Shu Han. Xiahou Yuan's eldest son. When Cao Shuang was assassinated by Sima Yi, Xiahou Ba sensed danger and escaped to Shu Han. His younger sister married Zhang Fei, and their daughter became a consort to Liu Chan. 063 Xiahou Mao (Wei) ?- ? General of Wei. Xiahou Mao was the son of Xiahou Yuan and was adopted by Xiahou Dun (in the official histories he was Dun's true son). He met the advance of Shu Han forces, but was no match for his opponents. He fled to Hu and never returned. 064 He Jin (Other) ?- 189 His sister became Empress, allowing him to promote himself to Commander General. He schemed to sweep away with the Ten Eunuchs, but was assassinated by them before he got a chance. 065 Hua Xiong (Other) ?- 191 A general under Dong Zhuo. He served as the vanguard for Dong Zhuo's army. He defeated Sun Jian at the Fan Shui Gate, fighting like a true general until he was killed by Guan Yu. Historically, he was killed by the hands of Sun Jian. 066 Guan Hai (Other) ?- ? A Yellow Turban officer. After the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he led several tens of thousands of surviving followers and attacked Bei Hai. He fought Liu Bei, who arrived with reinforcements, and fought in a duel with Guan Yu. He displayed the strength of 10 men, but was still killed in battle. 067 Guan Xing (Shu) ?- 234 A Shu general and Guan Yu's second son. When Liu Bei raised his army against Wu, he participated, getting vengeance for his father. He made a pact of brotherhood with Zhang Fei's son, Zhang Bao, and the two of them proved to be a formidable force during the battles in the North. 068 Guan Suo (Shu) ?- ? A Shu officer and Guan Yu's third son. After the fall of the Jing Province, he suffered major wounds and fled to Bao Jia Zhuang to recover. During the Southern Campaign, he returned to Shu and spearheaded the attack, managing to capture Meng Huo in the process. 069 Han Dang (Wu) ?- ? A Wu officer and veteran general who served three generations of the Sun family. He participated in numerous battles, including the Battle of Chi Bi, the campaign against Guan Yu, and the Battle of Yi Ling, serving as an important piece of the Wu navy. At Chi Bi, he rescued Huang Gai, who had fallen overboard after being hit by an arrow. 070 Guan Ping (Shu) ?- 219 An officer under Liu Bei. The second son of Guan Ding, he became Guan Yu's adopted son after he took an interest in him. After Liu Bei entered Shu, he and his father protected Jing Province. Captured by Wu at Mai Castle, he suffered the same fate as Guan Yu. 071 Han Meng (Other) ?- ? An officer under Yuan Shao. At the Battle of Guan Du, he sent supplies, but they were attacked and burnt by Xu Huang. Upon returning to his camp, he was demoted by the enraged Yuan Shao. 072 Jian Yong (Shu) ?- ? A vassal of Shu. Same home village as Liu Bei. He was with Liu Bei from the beginning and served as an envoy and strategist. He was given a high rank after the entry into Shu and had an open-minded character. 073 Yan Liang (Other) ?- 200 A brave warrior under Yuan Shao. He spearheaded the attack at the Battle of Bai Mai, defeating both Song Xian and Wei Xu. He also forced the brave Xu Huang to retreat, but shortly after, he was killed in one blow by Guan Yu, who was serving under Cao Cao at the time. 074 Niu Jin (Wei) ?- ? An officer under Cao Ren. Niu Jin was stationed in Nan Jun to defend against Zhou Yu and the Wu Army. In one battle, Niu Jin defied Cao Ren's orders and struck out of the castle, whereupon he was immediately surrounded by the Wu Army. He was later rescued by Cao Ren, but Wei would lose the battle. Nan Jun was eventually taken by Zhao Yun. 075 Niou Fu (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo and also his son-in-law. After Dong Zhuo's assassination, he headed to Chang An for revenge. Following the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he and Zhu Jun, among others, were attacked by Liu Bei and the Imperial Army, and were forced to fight from the castle in Yang Cheng prefecture. Officer of Wei and Warlord of Dong Guan. When Wu's Zhou Fang defected, on orders from General Mai Kui, he and Man Chong headed to the Eastern Gate to reinforce Cao Xiu. 088 Hu Zhen (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo. He fought against Yuan Shao and the anti-Dong army at Fan Shui Gate. Serving as a vice general under Hua Xiong, he took 5000 troops into battle, but was defeated by Sun Jian's servant Cheng Pu. 089 Wu Tugu (Other) ?- ? The King of Wu Ge. An extremely large man with skin like scales. His elite troops were impervious to both sword and arrow alike, making it very difficult for the Shu forces, but he was caught and killed in Zhuge Liang's trap. 090 Hu Ban (Wei) ?- ? Assistant Lieutenant Governor under Wang Zhi. When Hu Ban was ordered to kill Guan Yu with a fire attack when he was going to meet Liu Bei, Hu Ban instead let him go. He later went to Jing with Guan Yu's help, and became a vassal of Liu Bei. 091 Wu Lan (Shu) ?- 218 A Shu officer. He was a servant under Liu Zhang, but switched loyalties to Liu Bei after he invaded Shu. He served in the campaign against Wei at Han Zhong under Ma Chao. At the Battle of Xia Yu, he fought with Cao Cao's son, Cao Zhang, and was killed. 092 Sha Moke (Shu) ?- ? The King of Wu Xi Man. Helping Liu Bei in his campaign against Wu, he killed Gan Ning with an arrow. After being attacked with fire, he fled, but was followed by Wu's Zhou Tai, who hunted him down and killed him. 093 Zhou Cang (Shu) ?- 219 A former Yellow Turban general. As a bandit on Mt. Wo Niu, he met with Guan Yu and became his trusted companion. A hero well trained in the water. However, he does not actually appear in real history. 094 Zhou Fang (Wu) ?- ? At You Ting, he enjoyed tremendous success on the battlefield, including the defeat of Cao Xiu's troops, who had been deceived by Zhou Fang's defection, and the defeat of the Wei general Zhang Pu. 096 Zhu Jun (Other) ?- 195 An officer of the Later Han. He fought against the Yellow Turbans along with Liu Bei and Sun Jian. As a reward for his efforts, he was presented with a promotion. After the defeat of Dong Zhuo, he, Li Jue and Guo Si served in the Imperial government. 097 Zhu Ran (Wu) 182- 249 A Wu officer. He controlled the naval forces at the Battle of Yi Ling. He gave chase after Liu Bei, who fled from Lu Xun's fire attack. However, he was stopped by Zhao Yun, who came to Liu Bei's aid, allowing him to escape. 098 Zhu Zhi (Wu) A Wu officer. He served three generations of the Sun family. He was the one who suggested to Sun Ce to borrow troops from Yuan Shu in order to gain their independence. He was made warlord of the Wu Territory and served at the Battle of Chi Bi. 099 Zhu Ling (Wei) ?- ? Officer of Wei. Assigned as an observer during the campaign against Yuan Shu, he was unable to fulfill his assignment. He was said to have been disliked by Cao Cao. 100 Xun Yu (Wei) 163- 212 A vassal of Wei. It is said he was extremely clever. He served under Cao Cao as an advisor. He disagreed with Cao Cao's accession to the Wei throne and filled with anguish, died of illness. It has also been said that he committed suicide. 101 Chunyu Qiong (Other) ?- 200 An officer under Yuan Shao. Formerly one of the eight officials of Xi Yuan along with Yuan Shao and Cao Cao. At the Battle of Guan Du, he guarded the provisions depot, but after drinking too much wine, was too drunk to defend it when attacked by Cao Cao. Furious, Yuan Shao had him killed. 102 Xun You (Wei) 157- 214 A servant of Cao Cao and nephew of Xun Yu. Raised on the battlefield, he was able to give many points of advice. At the Battle of Chi Bi, he served along with Cheng Yu. 103 Zhong Hui (Wei) 225- 264 Displaying enormous talent from an early age, Zhong Hui gained the confidence of Sima Zhao. He and Deng Ai were placed in command of the Campaign against Shu, but Deng Ai would reach and conquer Cheng Du first. Later, after conspiring with Jiang Wei to remove Deng Ai from favor, he declared independence in Shu, but was killed by a subordinate. 104 Jiang Qin (Wu) A Wu officer. He recieved high praise together with Zhou Tai while under Sun Ce. During the Southern campaign, he led the invasion, but suffered a great defeat, which almost led to his execution. In the campaign against Guan Yu, he controlled the naval forces and surrounded him. 105 Xu Rong (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo. After Cao Cao was ambushed by Lu Bu on his way to Chang An, Xu Rong pursued Cao Cao and hit him with an arrow in the shoulder. However, Xu was stopped by Xiahou Dun, who came to Cao Cao's aid. 106 Zhuge Jin (Wu) 174- 241 A vassal of Wu and Zhuge Liang's older brother. He served at the recommendation of Lu Su. Extremely generous, he was deeply trusted by Sun Quan. He helped smooth relations between Shu and Wu. 107 Xu Shu (Shu) ?- ? A disciple of Sima Hui. An expert swordsman. He first served as strategist for Liu Bei, but when his mother was kidnapped by Cao Cao, he was forced to leave Liu Bei's side. He recommended Zhuge Liang as his successor and departed for Wei, where his devotion to Liu Bei prevented him from ever being a useful officer under Cao Cao. 108 Xu Sheng (Wu) ?- ? A Wu officer. He served in the Battle of Chi Bi, and in the attacks on He Fei and the Jing Province. When Cao Pi attacked Wu, he took a group of troops and by building a phony castle, was able to deceive and evade the Wei forces. 109 Qin Qi (Wei) ?- 200 Xiahou Dun's officer. Protected the fifth gate that led to the Yellow River from Cao Cao's palace. He was the last officer that attempted to stop Guan Yu from escaping, but was obviously no match for the great general. 110 Shen Pei (Other) ?- 204 Vassal of Yuan Shao. Xun Yu called Shen Pei "Headstrong, Weak Strategist". After the death of Yuan Shao, Shen Pei helped Yuan Shang to become heir leader. He was captured by Cao Cao's forces, but was unrepentant. He was executed facing north, the direction of his lord. 111 Xin Pi (Wei) ?- ? A vassal of Wei and brother of Xin Ping. He served the Yuan family until its demise. He later joined Cao Cao. At Wu Zhang Plains, he delivered an Imperial decree to the Wei forces that were lined up against Zhuge Liang, stopping the army from attacking prematurely. 112 Xin Ping (Other) ?- 205 Vassal of Han Fu. After Han Fu fled, Xin Ping served the Yuan family, and was active as Yuan Tan's tactician. When he met Cao Cao as an envoy, he was invited to become Cao Cao's vassal, but firmly refused. 113 Quan Zong (Wu) ?- 249 An officer of Wu, he was successful in a campaign against bandits. Later, he and Lu Xun attacked the Wei troops who were deceived by Zhou Fang's fake defection. He defeated Wei's Bi Qiao. 114 Cao Xiu (Wei) ?- 228 A Wei officer and nephew of Cao Cao. A brilliant archer, he served Cao Pi and Cao Rui following the death of Cao Cao. He was fooled by Zhou Fang's false defection and lost many troops. He eventually died of shame. 115 Cao Hong (Wei) ?- 232 A Wei officer. One of Cao Cao's brothers. Together with Cao Ren, he participated in the raising of Cao Cao's army. As a core member of the Wei forces, he fought across the land for his brother. After Cao Pi ascended the throne, he worked his way up to Chief General of the Guard and Cavalry. 116 Cao Ang (Wei) ?- 197 Older son of Cao Cao. When Wan Castle was attacked by Zhang Xiu, this dutiful son gave Cao Cao his horse to escape. Because of this, he was unable to escape himself and died in battle. 117 Cao Pi (Wei) 187- 226 The first Emperor of Wei and Cao Cao's second son. After assuming control of the Wei throne, he forced the Emperor to step-down, effectively stealing the crown. He attacked both Shu and Wu with little results, and decided to focus on internal politics. 118 Ju Shou (Other) ?- ? A vassal of Yuan Shao. He often advised to strike Cao Cao, but Yuan didn't listen, instead throwing him in jail. After Yuan Shao's defeat, he was advised to surrender to Cao Cao, but he refused and was killed during his attempt to escape. 119 Sun Shao (Wu) ?- ? He was taken from the Yu family by Sun Jian, who adopted him, making him brothers with Sun Huan. During the attack against Wei, he opposed Xu Sheng. Taking control of his troops, he created confusion amongst the Wei troops. With the help of Ding Feng and other, he achieved a great victory. 120 Dailai Dongzhu (Other) ?- ? The younger brother of Meng Huo's wife, Zhu Rong. He introduced King Duosi and Wu Tugu to Meng Huo, who kept losing his battles with Shu. He advised on the need for reinforcements. 121 King Duosi (Other) ?- ? Former leader of a Nanman tribe. Friends with Meng Huo's younger brother, Meng You, he was labeled as the wisest man in all of Nanman. He went to help the outnumbered Meng Huo, using the four poison marshes of the Tu Mang Caves against Zhuge Liang. 122 Zhang Ji (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo and uncle to Zhang Xiu. He was married to the beautiful Zou Ji. Due to a lack of supplies, he attacked Liu Biao, but he was struck by a stray arrow and killed. 123 Zhang Xiu (Wei) ?- 207 Nephew of Zhang Ji. Following his uncle's death, he led his army to aid Liu Biao. At one point, he joined Cao Cao, but revolted when his uncle's wife was taken. Later, following the advice of Jia Xu, he returned to Cao Cao. 124 Zhang Cheng (Wu) ?- ? Officer of Wu. On Zhuge Liang's 5th northern campaign, he and Sun Shao were ordered by Sun Quan to lead an advance from Gong Ling towards Huai Yin. 125 Zhang Bao (Shu) ?- 229 A Shu general and Zhang Fei's eldest son. When Zhang Fei died, he took the Cobra Pike as a memento and fought in his first battle at Yi Ling. Together with his sworn brother, Guan Xing, he continued the legend of Shu after the death of their fathers. 126 Zhang Bao (Other) ?- 184 Zhang Jiao's younger brother. Together with Zhang Jiao, he raised troops against the Han Dynasty and started the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Calling himself the "General of the Land", his sorcery on the battlefield held the Allied forces at bay until he was killed by one of his own men. 127 Zhang Yi (Shu) ?- 264 A Shu officer. Originally under Liu Zhang, he surrendered to Liu Bei. His unit was successful in the Northern and Southern campaigns. After the death of Xiahou Ba, the position was split up and he received a promotion. 128 Zhang Liang (Other) ?- 184 Zhang Jiao and Zhang Bao's younger brother. Along with his older brothers, he rose up against the Han Dynasty in the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Calling himself the "General of the People", he continued the rebellion after Zhang Jiao's death, but was eventually killed himself by the Imperial Army at Qu Yang. 129 Chen Shi (Shu) ?- ? A Shu officer. He was taken prisoner at Mt. Ding Jun, but was traded for Xiahou Shang. On the third northern campaign, he failed in his pursuit of the Wei army and was executed. It is said that he was the father of the author of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". 130 Cheng Yu (Wei) 141- 220 A servant of Cao Cao, his former name was Li. He changed his name after having a dream where he was holding up the sun. A large man with a strong constitution, he served Cao Cao at the recommendation of Xun Yu, contributing as strategist. 131 Cheng Yuanzhi (Other) ?- ? A Yellow Turban officer. Controlling an army of rebels, he attacked the You Province. He met Liu Bei's volunteer unit at Da Xing Shan Lu. There he duelled with Guan Yu, who in his first battle, killed him in one blow. 132 Cheng Pu (Wu) ?- ? An officer of Wu. A master with his Serpent Spear, he was a battle-hardened veteran who served three generations of the Sun family. He was often referred to as "Master Cheng" by the other generals. He served as Lt. Commander at the Battle of Chi Bi, teaming with Commander Zhou Yu to defeat Cao Cao at Jiang Chang. 133 Ding Feng (Wu) ?- 271 A Wu officer who served from the time of Sun Jian. In his first battle, he showed excellent skill, including the defeat of Zhang Liao. Serving Wu for more than 70 years, he was promoted as high as Commander General. 134 Tian Feng (Other) ?- 200 Strategist for Yuan Shao. Xun Yu said about Tian Feng: "He defies his lord with integrity". He was imprisoned for opposing the war against Cao Cao suggesting a war of attrition. He was slandered by Feng Ji and committed suicide. 135 Deng Ai (Wei) 197- 264 A Wei officer. A talented officer discovered by Sima Yi, he was active in the Shu Campaign. He teamed up with Zhong Hui to destroy Shu, but later fought with him. Thanks to Zhong Hui's accusations, he was captured and while being escorted away, was assassinated. 136 Dong Xi (Wu) ?- ? A Wu officer. He was responsible for introducing the famous doctor Hua Tuo to Sun Ce. He fought well in the defense of Ruan Xu but due to strong winds, his boat capsized and drowned. His corpse was later buried by Sun Quan. 137 Dong Tu Ne (Other) ?- ? An officer under Meng Huo. The leader of the second cave. Together with Ahui Nan, he went to back up Meng Huo, but was captured and then released by Zhuge Liang. Later, he went up against Meng Huo, but was killed. 138 Dong Min (Other) ?- 192 Younger brother of Dong Zhuo. Dong Min obtained the post of the General of the Left when Dong Zhuo manipulated the Emperor Xian and seized power. When his brother was betrayed and killed by Lu Bu, Dong Min was blamed equally and executed, his head was exposed for public inspection. 139 Deng Mao (Other) ?- ? A Yellow Turban officer. He attacked the You Province together with Cheng Yuanzhi, but was killed in one blow by Zhang Fei of the volunteer army, becoming the first victim of Zhang Fei's Cobra Blade. 140 Pei Yuan Shao (Other) ?- ? A Yellow Turban officer. After the Yellow Turban Rebellion, he became the leader of a group of bandits. He tried to steal Red Hare, but after finding that it belonged to Guan Yu, he gave up trying. He introduced his friend Zhou Cang to Guan Yu. 141 Ma Zun (Wei) ?- ? General of Wei. Governor of Tian Shu. Ma Zun defeated the Shu Han army, following a strategy of Jiang Wei. But when Jiang Wei fell victim to a scheme by Zhuge Liang, which made him betray his master. His vassal Yi Shang joined him on his escape to Hu. 142 Ma Su (Shu) 190- 228 A Shu officer and younger brother of Ma Liang. Zhuge Liang believed in his talent, but Liu Bei said "He can't be trusted with important matters". He served well as the advisor during the Southern campaign, but he confused orders during the Northern campaign, resulting in a humiliating defeat. Reluctantly, Zhuge Liang was forced to execute him. 143 Ma Dai (Shu) ?- ? A Shu officer. Together with his brother Ma Chao, he went to serve Liu Bei. He was put in charge of forces in the North and Southern campaigns and did well. After Zhuge Liang's death, he put down Wei Yan, who had revolted. He was later promoted. 144 Ma Zhong (Shu) ?- 249 Fought under Zhuge Liang during Shu's Southern Campaign. He was captured by Zhu Rong, but when Zhu Rong herself was captured by Zhao Yun, he was freed in a prisoner exchange. He later contributed greatly to Shu's Northern campaigns, and during the fourth such campaign, he lured Zhang He into a trap at Mu Men Pass. 145 Ma Liang (Shu) ?- ? A Shu vassal. A talented young man, he was given the nickname "White Eyebrows". Together with his brother Ma Su, he served Liu Bei. He helped Guan Yu with the domestic affairs in the Jing Province. At the Battle of Yi Ling, he delivered encampment plans to Zhuge Liang. 146 Pan Zhang (Wu) ?- ? A Wu officer. Together with Zhu Ran he captured the great Guan Yu, recieving the Blue Dragon as reward. Later, he was pursued by Guan Yu's son, Guan Xing, and when caught by surprise from seeing Guan Yu's ghost, is hunted down and killed. 147 Fan Chou (Other) ?- ? An officer under Dong Zhuo. After Dong Zhuo's death, he defeated Ma Teng and Han Sui's armies, who came to attack. Since they were friends from the same home province, he allowed Han Sui to escape, causing Li Jue to kill him for treason. 148 Mi Zhu (Shu) ?- ? A vassal under Liu Bei and wealthy merchant from Xu. Following the death of his master, Yan Qian, he went to serve Liu Bei as an adviser, where he experiences numerous ups and downs. After Liu Bei's capture of Shu, he was promoted to a position higher than even Zhuge Liang. 149 Mi Fang (Shu) ?- ? An officer under Liu Bei and Mi Zhu's little brother. He protected Southern Jing under Guan Yu. However, he was persuaded by his friend Fu Tu Ren to betray Guan Yu and join Wu. He later returned to Shu, but was executed for his betrayal. 150 Fu Shi Ren (Shu) ?- 222 Vassal of Guan Yu. Fu Shi Ren defended Guan Yu's back from his station in Gong An, but surrendered when invaded by the Wu army. He attempted to surrender back to Shu Han at Yi Ling, but was denied and executed. 151 Wen Chou (Other) ?- 200 An officer under Yuan Shao. In order to avenge his companion Yan Liang, he set out for Yan Jin, where he met Cao Cao and fought bravely in battle. He managed to defeat both Zhang Liao and Xu Huang, but was eventually defeated by Guan Yu. 152 Bian Xi (Wei) ?- ? Member of the Yellow Turbans. Master with his Shooting Star. Bian Xi later served Cao Cao and defended Yi Shu Han. He laid an ambush at Zhen Guo Temple to kill Guan Yu on his Solitary Journey. However, when Pu Jing, the priest of the temple, reported it to Guan Yu, Bian Xi was killed. 153 Feng Ji (Other) ?- 202 Vassal of Yuan Shao. Xun Yu said of Feng Ji: "She has courage but does not listen to others". He had a strong sense of rivalry, and slandered Tian Feng, causing him to commit suicide. He supported Yuan Shang as the heir to Yuan Shao. 154 Fa Zheng (Shu) 176- 220 A vassal of Shu and former servant of Liu Zhang. Together with Zhang Song, he planned Liu Bei's Shu campaign. Excelling in strategy, he served as an advisor in the attack on Han Zhong. It is said that if Fa Zheng had been alive, Yi Ling never would have fallen. 155 Pang De (Wei) ?- 219 A Wei officer. He served Ma Chao, but was captured during Cao Cao's attack on Han Zhong and joined Wei. At Fan Castle, he fought to a match with Guan Yu and showed his resolve, even going as far to prepare his own coffin when going to battle. 156 King Mulu (Other) ?- ? The leader of a Nanman tribe. With both his magic, calling on the wind and rain, and his giant elephants, he frightened the Shu troops. However, his magic was defeated by Zhuge Liang and he was killed in battle. 157 Man Chong (Wei) ?- 242 A vassal of Wei. He convinced Yang Feng's officer, Xu Huang, to join Cao Cao. He Advised Cao Ren to defend Fan Castle when attacked by Guan Yu and succeeded in repelling Guan Yu. 158 Meng Da (Shu) ?- 228 An officer who had served under Liu Zhang, Liu Bei and Cao Pi. He contributed to Liu Bei's Shu campaign, but he deserted Guan Yu and joined Wei. After the death of Cao Pi, he attempted to return to Shu, but was defeated by Sima Yi. 159 Meng You (Other) ?- ? Meng Huo's younger brother. When his brother was losing to Zhuge Liang's Southern campaign, he introduced him to King Duosi, encouraging him to resist the Shu troops. However, he was captured along with his brother by Zhuge Liang and surrendered to Shu. 160 Yang Feng (Other) ?- ? Chief of Nanman Yin Ye Cavern. Yang Feng contributed fifty thousand men as reinforcements to Meng Huo's war with Shu. During a banquet to welcome the reinforcements, however, he took Meng Huo prisoner and delivered him to Zhuge Liang. 161 Lei Tong (Shu) ?- ? A Shu officer. He helped in the defense against Shu, but was surrounded and thereby surrendered. During the defense of He Xi, he fought well against Wei's Zhang He, but his route of escape was cut off by Wei support troops and he was killed in battle. 162 Li Jue (Other) ?- 198 An officer under Dong Zhuo. After Dong Zhuo's assassination, he and his peers killed Wang Yun. Taking Emperor Xiao, he assumed control of the government. Due to a plot by Yang Biao, he ended up fighting his ally Guo Si, which led to his own demise. 163 Li Yan (Shu) ?- 234 Officer of Shu. Formerly an officer of Liu Zhang, he joined Liu Bei upon the latter's entry into Shu. Zhuge Liang claimed this officer to be on par with Lu Xun. However, he failed to deliver supplied during the Northern campaign and flees. 164 Li Ru (Other) ?- ? A servant of Dong Zhuo and also his son-in-law. He provided various strategies and plots, leading the corrupt government. A lover of learning, he had a very cool and careful personality. He had stopped the violence of his peers on numerous occasions. Together with Zhang Liao and Yue Jin, he served in the defense of He Fei. 166 Liu Chan (Shu) 207- 271 Liu Bei's son and Second Emperor of Shu. As an infant, he was left behind at Chang Ban, but was rescued by Zhao Yun. On his deathbed, Liu Bei instructed Zhuge Liang to seize power if his son proved to be an ineffective leader, but Zhuge Liang served faithfully under Liu Chan until the very end. When Wei eventually threatened Shu's borders, Liu Chan immediately surrendered, and brought about the end of the Shu Han Dynasty. 167 Liu Pi (Other) ?- 201 General of the Yellow Turbans. Liu Pi led a band of brigands in Ru Nan with Gong Du after the Yellow Turban Rebellion. He joined Liu Bei and delivered Ru Nan to him. He died in battle, trying to defend Liu Bei from the Wei general, Gao Lan. 168 Liu Feng (Shu) ?- 220 Liu Bei's adopted son. He served in the defense of Chang Yang, but refused Guan Yu's request for reinforcements. As a result, Guan Yu and his son were killed. Enraged, Liu Bei had him executed at Cheng Du. 169 Liu Ye (Wei) ?- ? Subject of Wei. Liu Ye joined Wei by Guo Jia's recommendation. He designed the catapults used in the war against Yuan Shao, by which they succeeded in driving back the enemy's assaults. He served three Cao rules, and made many proposals as the Middle counselor of Wei. 170 Liao Hua (Shu) ?- 264 A Shu officer and former Yellow Turban rebel. During Guan Yu's flight from Wei, he asked to be Guan Yu's servant, but was refused. He later went on to serve and fight for Liu Bei. He lived to see Shu from its birth to its demise. 171 Liang Xu (Wei) ?- ? Officer under Tian Shui Prefect Ma Zun. When Zhuge Liang invaded Tian Shui, suspicion is cast on him after his friend Jiang Wei defected to Shu. Fearing reprisal, he opened Tian Shui's gates and welcomed in the Shu Army. He was later assigned again the post of Tian Shui Prefect. 172 Ling Cao (Wu) ?- 203 Vassal of Sun Ce. Father of Ling Tong. After defeating Yan Baihu of Wu Jun, Ling Cao joined Sun Ce and was appointed Commander of Conquest. In a battle with Huang Zu, he was shot by Gan Ning and died. 173 Ling Tong (Wu) 189- 237 A Wu general and the son of Ling Cao. Upon joining Wu, he tried to seek vengeance for his father on Gan Ning and was reproached by Lu Meng and Sun Quan. Later, when fighting with Yue Jin of Wei, his life was saved by Gan Ning, upon which he made peace and swore an oath of friendship. 174 Lu Kai (Shu) ?- 226 Officer of Shu Han. Chief Archivist of Yong Chang Jun. Lu Kai valiantly defended Yong Chang Jun against the attack by Yong Kai. He gave a Map of the Southern Regions to Zhuge Liang, and was promoted to Military Instructor. 175 Lu Kuang (Other) ?- 207 Vassal of Yuan Shang. Elder brother of Lu Xiang. Lu Kuang surrendered and joined Yuan Tan and received the General's official seal. However, he changed alliances and delivered it to Cao Cao. He attacked Xin Ye with Lu Xiang, but was killed by the famous general Zhao Yun. 176 Lu Xiang (Other) ?- 207 Vassal of Yuan Shang. Younger brother of Lu Kuang. Lu Xiang never acted without his brother. After joining to Cao Cao's army, he fought under Cao Ren and attacked Liu Bei in Xin Ye with his brother, but was killed in one swipe by Zhang Fei. 177 Lu Su (Wu) 172- 217 A vassal of Wu. On Zhou Yu's recommendation, he went to serve Sun Quan. He advised joining with Liu Bei at Chi Bi. He became Commander upon the death of Zhou Yu, and served Wu against Wei and Shu. 178 Qiong Ying (Other) ?- ? A figure from the "Water Margin" (Suikoden). Separated from her parents at birth, she served General Tian Hu. When fighting the rebels from Liang Shan Po, she learned that Tian Hu killed her parents. She defected to the rebels and married Zhang Qing, who later executed Tian Hu. She achieved many victories against the corrupt government. 179 Li Shi Shi (Other) ?- ? A figure from the "Water Margin" (Suikoden). She was favored by the Tsung emperor, who built a secret tunnel from the palace to her house. Li Shi Shi loved Yan Qing, a member of the Liang Shan Po and mediated between the court and the rebels. She and Yan Qing never became a couple but swore an oath of brotherhood. 180 Hu San Niang (Other) ?- ? A figure from the "Water Margin" (Suikoden). She was extremely skilled with her twin swords "Sun and Moon Blades" and defeated one hero of the Liang Shan Po after another. She was finally caught by Lin Cun and married Wang Ying. Hu San Niang won many battles and her joyful nature boosted the morale of the rebels from Liang Shan Po. 181 Cai Wen Ji (Other) ?- ? The daughter of Cai Yong, Cai Wen Ji was a famous author and scholar of her time. Captured in battle, she was given as concubine to prince Zuo Xian and had two children. Cao Cao regretted such a waste of talent and brought her back to the Han court, where she wrote the "Poems of Sorrow and Resentment" and "Eighteen Laments Sung To A Hujia". 182 Yukimura Sanada (Other) 1567- 1615 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". He fought for the Toyotomi at Sekigahara but was captured by the rival Tokugawa. He escaped later and joined the Toyotomi for a final battle at Osaka. There he mowed down enemy troops and reached Ieyasu Tokugawa, almost slaying him. He is remembered as "Japan's greatest warrior" for his courage. 183 Keiji Maeda (Other) ?- 1612 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Known to be an eccentric character, he was an expert in the martial arts, but also well versed in poetry and the tea ceremony. From the house of Maeda, he roamed the land unemployed, as a "Ronin". Recruited by the Uesugi in the Battle of Aizu, he supported them in many battles against the Takeda and Oda. 184 Nobunaga Oda (Other) 1534- 1582 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". The most famous warlord of his time, he was initially a local retainer in Owari. He conquered one neighboring province after another and gained more than half of Japan. He was ruthless, but also innovative, using foreign technology and economic policies to gain advantage. He was assassinated by his own advisor Mitsuhide Akechi at Honnouji in June, 1582. 185 Mitsuhide Akechi (Other) 1528- 1582 A figure from "Samurai Warriors", who was employed by Nobunaga Oda. Versed in literary and military arts, the Mino warrior was a brilliant general, honored as "Hyuga no Kami". However, Mitsuhide disagreed on his lord's ruthless methods and assassinated Nobunaga at Honnouji in 1582 during Hideyoshi's absence. Hideyoshi hasted back to defeat Mitsuhide at Yamasaki and kills him on his flight. 186 Goemon Ishikawa (Other) ?- 1594 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". The feats of the legendary thief from the Azuchi-Momoyama era are sung in numerous poems and one of the most famous Kabuki plays, "Sanmon". Hired to assassinate Hideyoshi Toyotomi, he failed and was sentenced to death with his son in a boiling cauldron. 187 Kenshin Uesugi (Other) 1530- 1578 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Lord of the province of Echigo, he claimed to be the incarnation of the god of war, Bishamonten. His battle prowess was admired in his battles against the Kanto warlords Takeda and Hojo. He finally met Nobunaga Oda and his army at the Tedori river, but died before going to battle. 188 Oichi (Other) 1547- 1583 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". The sister of Nobunaga, she was of peerless beauty, but had to bear a tragic fate. She was married to Nagamasa Azai and had three daughters and a son. However, the Oda and Azai became enemies and Nagamasa, defeated by Nobunaga, took his life. Oichi was brought back to the Oda clan and married to Katsuie Shibata. Katsuie was attacked by Hideyoshi after Nobunaga's death and committed suicide with Oichi. 189 Okuni (Other) A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Initially serving at the Great Shrine of Izumo (Izumo Taisha), with her peers she created a new form of entertaining dance, later known as Kabuki. She toured the country to collect repair funds for the Izumo Taisha. Kabuki became embraced by the common people as a form of comic entertainment. 190 Kunoichi (Other) ?- ? A figure from "Samurai Warriors". The combination of the characters "ku", "no" and "ichi" form the character for "woman". Kunoichi were female Ninja, receiving physical and psychological education since childhood. Trained in assassination, seduction and information gathering, they were used to infiltrate high enemy ranks. 191 Magoichi Saika (Other) ?- ? A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Commander of the Saika mercenaries. The Saika were an excellent musket squad, working for whoever paid them. Fighting on the side of the Honganji sect, he inflicted heavy casualties on the Oda army. After surrendering to Nobunaga the Saika played an important role to Nobunaga and later Hideyoshi. 192 Shingen Takeda (Other) 1521- 1573 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Warlord of Kofu, he had banners of his formidable cavalry emblazoned with "Wind", "Woods", "Fire" and "Mountain", after a famous reading from Sun Tzu. His most famous battles were against Kenshin Uesugi at Kawanakajima, against the Imagawa and the Hojo. However, he died before reaching the capital in order to unify the land. 193 Masamune Date (Other) 1567- 1636 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". He became the head of the Date house at the age of 18. Although missing one eye, he ruled the land of Oushu at the age of 24 and was called "One Eyed Dragon", attesting his fierceness in battle. He followed Hideyoshi and later Iyeyasu but his ambition to annex the Uesugi territory was never fulfilled. 194 Noh (Other 1535- ? A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Daughter of Dousan Saito, Nobunaga married her when the Oda and the Saito forge an alliance. She failed to produce a heir and Nobunaga turned to his concubine Kitsuno. Almost no records are left about her, but some sources say that she was a cousin of Mitsuhide Akechi. 195 Hanzo Hattori (Other) 1542- 1595 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". A Tokugawa vassal and Ninja from Iga. After the coup at Honnouji, Mitsuhide sought to eliminate all opposition, including the Tokugawa. Hanzo saved Ieyasu by taking him through Iga. Hanzo was a skilled fighter and Ninja, but also benevolent and is still a very popular figure. 196 Ranmaru Mori (Other) 1568- 1582 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". He and his brothers served Nobunaga Oda as pages. Nobunaga is impressed by his skills and entrusted him with state affairs. Nobunaga's affection for Ranmaru is said to have caused Mitsuhide's anger and Ranmaru and his brothers died protecting Nobunaga during the rebellion at Honnouji 197 Hideyoshi Hashiba (Other) 1537- 1598 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Nobunaga called him affectionately "monkey". He gained Nobunaga's trust by constructing the Castle of Sunomata in one single night and by covering Nobunaga's retreat from Echizen. He was the first to unify the land after Nobunaga's death and became the regent of Japan. 198 Yoshimoto Imagawa (Other) 1519- 1560 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". Called "Supreme Warrior of the Kaido", Imagawa was proud of being of equally noble birth than the Ashikawa shogun and the Kira clan. Yoshimoto admired the aristocrat way of life. He forged a triple alliance with the Takeda and the Hojo and marched on the capital. However, he is defeated by Nobunaga before he can take control of the capital. 199 Tadakatsu Honda (Other) 1548- 1610 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". A Tokugawa vassal, who was said to surpass Ieyasu in battle. He was employed by Ieyasu at the age of 13 and has fought in all major battles. His peerless battle prowess and his famous spear "Tombo Giri" have accounted for not being wounded once in the over fifty battles he took part in. 200 Ina (Other) 1573- 1620 A figure from "Samurai Warriors". She was Tadakatsu Honda's daughter and adopted by Ieyasu. The princess despised the warlords who courted her because of Ieyasu's influence, only Nobuyuki Sanada was not intimidated. The princess was impressed by this and married Nobuyuki.
