The Forward Right Wing is only allowed to stay in the forward half of the playing field so they are absolutely not allowed to defend unless in the upper half. [M] Midfielder ~ =------------= The two Midfielders are a mix of the Forwards and the Fullbacks. They are not only responsible to help the two Forwards in scoring, but if the ball reaches their territory, they are expected to defend it. [F] Fullback ~ =----------= Fullbacks are the defenders of the goal. They are responsible for keeping the ball away from the goal and towards the enemy. They aren't allowed to run up past the midfield line and may only stay behind. [S] Sweeper ~ =---------= Sweepers are responsible for aiding the Goalie by stopping the ball before it gets near the Goalie. Therefore, they are to patrol near the Goalie. [G] Goalie ~ =--------= Being one of the most important players, Goalies are allowed to use their hands to stop a ball before it enters the goal! They are ONLY to stay in the goal and protect from any incoming balls. -=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+= -+- 5. The Game -+- [4000] -=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+= The game of Soccer isn't too tough to learn. The point of the game is to move the ball along with your teammates to kick it into the goal. Apart from the Goalie, all players may only use their feet, head, chest, etc. without at all, using their arm or hands. By kicking it into the goal, the team scores a point. ========================= ---------------------------- Running and Dribbling ---------------------------- ========================= This is fairly easy. Once you get the ball, you can run around dribbling by using the Control Pad. Move it close to the goal or close to a teammate and pass, shoot, etc. =========== ----------------------------------- Passing ----------------------------------- =========== To pass, you first need to be in possession of the ball. You should always be near your teammates before you pass as the enemy might steal it from you. Pass by pressing the Start Button. The ball will sail to the nearest open player which you will gain control of. ======================== ---------------------------- Shooting and Scoring ----------------------------- ======================== Shooting and Scoring is a simple thing to understand, but a bit tough to master completely. When you are in possession of the ball, and you are at least near the goal, pressing the 2 Button will cause you to shoot towards the goal. The farther away you are, the easier it will be for the Goalie to pick it off so get as close as possible and kick away. ============ ---------------------------------- Stealing ----------------------------------- ============ To steal, simply run into the enemy with the ball and you will automatically slide tackle him. If you time it correctly, the ball will then become yours for the dribbling. ================== ------------------------------- Playing Goalie -------------------------------- ================== When the enemy happens to carry the ball all the way to your goal area and your players fail to steal, you will gain control of the Goalie. Move him around with the Control Pad and stop the ball before it goes in by jumping in front of it to stop it. Then, your Goalie will be allowed to throw it to the player of choice. -=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+=--=+= -+- 6. Thanks to CJayC for accepting this piece of work. He hasn't failed us yet. Y.T.W.S.R. - Only a few selected people might know what I'm talking about here. Since I'm not one to give it away, I would still like to thank this group for their support and motivation throughout the lifespan of this entire FAQ. Masamune3 - Bringing up the SMS Completion Project. I'd admit, I would never have written this guide without it. The FCSB - They didn't help too much but what can I say, where would I be without a few of them? Major props to these great board members who are also prized FAQ writers. Some examples being; Crazyreyn, Psycho Penguin, Gbness, Karpah, SinirothX, Meowthnum1, Guitarfreak86, Joni Philips, War Doc, Merca, and last but definitely not least, Gobicamel1. You all rock! - All outside sources which have contributed to the making of this guide in some form have been cited in this section. Any sources that have provided any information at all are listed in the credits. I am not taking credit for others hard work and I hope they do the same. Not giving proper credit is plagiarism and it's against the law. =============================================================================== ____ __ _ __ __ / __ \____ ______/ /__ | | / /___ _____/ /____ _ __ / / / / __ `/ ___/ //_/ | | / / __ \/ ___/ __/ _ \| |/_/ / /_/ / /_/ / / / ,< | |/ / /_/ / / / /_/ __/> < /_____/\__,_/_/ /_/|_| |___/\____/_/ \__/\___/_/|_| -=Game On Forever=-
