* Exported from MasterCook * Spells and Bells Recipe By : Betty Crocker's Merry Makings Serving Size : 24 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Breads Christmas Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 Pkg active dry yeast 1/4 c Water -- warm 110 F 2 Eggs 1 c Whipping cream 1 ts Vanilla 1/3 c Sugar 3 1/2 c Flour 1 tb Baking powder 1 tb Salt A magic mixture of ingredients makes them rise before your very eyes! In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat eggs, cream, vanilla, and sugar together until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in yeast. Blend dry ingredients; mix in until dough is soft and can be handled easily for rolling. Divide in half. Roll out both halves 1/3" thick on floured board. Cut with Christmas cookie cutters (star, bell, tree, etc.) Fry in deep fat heated to 375 F until brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve plain, sugared or glazed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
