MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Southern Peach Cobbler Categories: Cobblers Yield: 8 Servings MMMMM--------------------------FILLING------------------------------- 8 Fresh peaches -OR- 2 cn Peaches; (28 oz ea) 1/4 c Sugar 1/4 c Brown sugar 1/4 ts Cinnamon 1/8 ts Nutmeg 1 ts Lemon juice 2 ts Starch MMMMM--------------------------TOPPING------------------------------- 1 c All-purpose flour 1/4 c Sugar 1/4 c Brown sugar 1 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Salt 8 tb Butter 1/4 c Water; boiling MMMMM--------------------------SPRINKLE------------------------------- 3 tb Sugar 1 ts Cinnamon Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. In large bowl, combine peaches, 1/4 c sugar, 1/4 c brown sugar, 1/4 ts cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and starch. Toss to coat evenly, and pour into a 2 qt baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine flour, 1/4 c sugar, 1/4 c brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter. Stir in water until just combined.
