* Exported from MasterCook * Caramel Nut bars Recipe By : TASTE OF HOME - FEB/MARCH 1996 Serving Size : 36 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup quick-cooking oats 1 cup packed brown sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup butter or margarine -- melted 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon alt 14 ounces caramels 1/3 cup milk 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup walnuts -- chopped Combine the fist 6 ingredients; sprinkle 1 cup into a greased 13x9x2" pan (do not press). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 min. In the top of a double boiler over boiling water, cook and stir caramels and milk until caramels are melted. Pour over crust. Top with chocolate chips and nuts.
