---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Chocolate Caramel Squares Categories: Cheesecakes, Tvfn, Chocolate Yield: 1 servings 6 oz Semisweet chocolate chips 14 oz Caramels 5 oz Canned evaporated milk; -divided 18 1/2 oz German chocolate cake mix 3/4 c Softened butter 1 c Chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of double boiler. Cook, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside. With mixer, blend cake mix, remaining 1/3 cup milk and butter until dough holds together. Stir in pecans. Press 1/2 cake mix into greased 9 by 13 inch pan. Bake 6-8 minutes. Sprinkle semisweet chocolate chips on top. Pour melted caramel mixture over all, spread evenly. Crumble remaining cake mixture over caramel. Bake 15-25 minutes and center will be soft.
