* Exported from MasterCook * Toffee Bars Recipe By : Mary Curtis Serving Size : 48 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Cookies Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 oz Saltine crackers 8 oz Butter 1 c Brown sugar 12 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 c Nuts Butter a jelly roll pan well. Line the pan with crackers. In a saucepan melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Spread mixture over crackers. Bake in a 375 F oven for 5 minutes. Remove to a rack and put chocolate chips and nuts on top of crackers. Return to turned off oven just until the chips are softened. Spread the softened chocolate to cover the crackers. Refrigerate until chocolate is set. Makes 4 dozen. A little goof from someone who "cooks a lot". All these years I have been meaning to buy a jelly roll pan. As a matter of fact, there are recipes that I have not made because of meaning to buy a jelly roll pan. I have, though, been, unbeknownst to me, cooking with a jelly roll pan for low these ? many years. That thing that I thought was a cookie sheet with sides that go about 1/3" up is known as a jelly roll pan. A real cookie sheet has no sides.
