---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Peanut-Butter Marble Square Bars Categories: Cookies Yield: 24 servings 2 1/2 c All-purpose flour 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 ts Baking soda 1 c Margarine or butter; (2 -sticks) or 1 c Shortening 1 c Peanut butter 1 c Granulated sugar 1 c Packed brown sugar 2 Eggs 2 tb Water 1 c Semisweet chocolate chips Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 12/2/96 Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside. Mix margarine and peanut butter. Add granulated and brown sugars. Mix well. Add eggs and water; beat well. Stir flour mixture into peanut-butter mixture. Spread dough evenly in an ungreased 15-by-10-by-1-inch jelly-roll pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Put the pan in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes or until chips are soft and spreadable. Take the pan out of the oven and run a knife back and forth through the dough to marbleize chocolate. Return to oven; bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 24 servings.
