---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Caramel Layers Categories: Cookies Yield: 1 servings 1/2 c Flour 1/2 ts Soda 1/2 c Butter 24 Light candy caramels 2 tb Cream 1/4 ts Salt 1/2 c Brown sugar; firmly packed 1/2 c Chocolate chips; or Butterscotch chips 3/4 c Quick cooking oats Combine in mixing bowl flour, salt, soda, brown sugar and rolled oats. Cut in butter until particles are fine. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining mixture into the bottom of greased 8-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Combine caramels and cream in top of double boiler; cook over boiling water until caramels melt. Spread carefully over base. Sprinkle with chocolate or butterscotch chips; then add reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 12-15 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. -----
