---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Toffee Bars # 2 Categories: Cookies, Chocolate Yield: 1 servings 1 c Butter or margarine 1 c Brown sugar 1 ts Vanilla extract 1 ts Maple extract (optional) 2 c Flour Sift after measuring A dash of salt 1 oz Semi-sweet chocolate bits 1 c Coarsely chopped walnuts Or pecans Cream butter, sugar and flavorings thoroughly in large bowl of electric mixer. Add flour and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate bits and nuts and spread in ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly-roll pan. In spreading dough in pan, be sure that edges of dough are slightly thicker than in center; when edges are thin, they tend to brown more quickly than rest of dough. Bake at 325 for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. While warm, cut in 1x2-inch bars and cool in pan.These are delicious cookies, remaining crisp in an airtight tin. Gramma/Helen -----
