                          Peanut Butter Cookies

   2      cups          all-purpose flour
     3/4  teaspoon      baking soda
     1/2  teaspoon      double-acting baking powder
     1/4  teaspoon      salt
     1/2  cup           butter
   1      cup           peanut butter
     1/2  cup           brown sugar
     1/2  cup           sugar
   1                    egg

     Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together.
     Cream butter and peanut butter together. Gradually beat in sugars. Add
egg and beat until fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients. Roll dough, a teaspoonful
at a time, into balls; place 3 inches apart on greased cookie sheets; flatten
with fork. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
