      Title: Angel Cookies

      1 c  Shortening
    1/2 c  Sugar
    1/2 c  Firmly packed brown sugar
      1    Egg
      2 c  All-purpose flour
      1 ts Baking soda
      1 ts Cream of tartar
      1 ts Vanilla extract
           Powdered sugar

  Preparation Time: 0:20
  Cream shortening; gradually add sugars, beating well at
  medium speed of an electric mixer.  Add egg, and beat well.
   Combine flour, soda, and cream of tartar; gradually add
  dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well.  Add
  vanilla, and mix well. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll
  in powdered sugar.  Place on lightly greased cookie sheets.
   Bake at 275 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.   Cool on wire
  racks. Yield:  4 dozen.
