      Title: Lemon Sponge Pie

      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      1 c  Sugar
      3 tb Flour
      3 tb Butter
      2    Egg yolks
      1    Lemon; rind of; grated
      2    Lemons; juice of
      1 c  Sweet milk
      2    Egg whites; stiffly beaten
      1    Single pie shell
 
  Cream sugar, flour, and botter together. Blend in egg yolks and
  lemon. Add milk and fold in egg white meringue.
  
  Pour mixture into crust and bake 300 F for 45 minutes.
  
  This is a recipe of an old friend, now deceased. I felt so highly of
  it that I presented it as an entry in a cooking contest. I did not
  win but the fault was not the recipe but that of the baker who was an
  amateur.
