---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Maple Frosted Apple Pan-Tart Categories: Fruits, Pies Yield: 8 Servings Pastry for a two crust 9-inc 1 1/2 c Corn flakes 6 c Peeled apples; thinly sliced 1 c Sugar 1 ts Ground cinnamon 1 Egg white; beaten 1/2 c Powdered sugar 3 tb Maple flavored syrup Recipe by: Pillsbury, The Complete Book of Baking Prepare pastry for a two crust pie. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place one circle of pastry on an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle cornflakes over pastry to within 1/2 inch of edge. Top with apples; sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Brush edge of pastry with egg white; place remaining circle of pastry over filling. Fold edge of bottom pastry over the top pastry; pinch and flute edges to seal. Cut several slits in the top pastry; brush with beaten egg white. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. In a small bowl, combine glaze ingredients. Drizzle over warm crust. To serve, cut into wedges. Serve warm or cool. -----
